gearbox access

hiya
whats the easiest way to access the top of the gearbox with the intent to test/change the reverse lamp switch?
had no reverse lights for since 2 days after buying the car and its not blown bulbs or fuse.

open the bonnet, remove the air ducting and it'll be right ontop of the gearbox.

thanks! do you know if it has a brown and a white wire running to it or if it has multiple wire in a connection block?

It's a 2 pin sensor onto of the gearbox - theres only one onto of the gearbox so can't miss it

thanks very much, problem sorted. belled out the switch and it wasnt closing. also bypassed it and stuck it in reverse to check it wasnt a faulty connection.
new switch on the way!
