£1.17 or so for v-power/super. Doesn't really bother me how much it costs.

I enjoy burning it and need it to get to work etc so I'm not gonna stop paying for it anytime soon lol

Cant say i ever look at the price of fuel.....whats the point, at the end of the day you need it.

1.209, fucking legalized thieves. I vote with my wallet, so dropped my average speed down and use the car only when needed. This has modified my driving style,as I now tend to try losing as little speed as possible in roundabouts.

Shell are now trying to lure customers into buying diesel Vpower at a reduced price (1.229 instaed of 1.269), and you get a shell cap + balloon as a reward for being a good muppet. I mean customer.

There's one every month or so

probably because petrol prices inflate on a monthly basis at the moment. If you don't like it/don't mind paying the asked price, then don't click on it :y:

be prepared to look at 126.9+ on January 1 2011

If you compare it to a litre of orange juice its quite cheap considering its been brought halfway across the world.

Then i remember a couple of years ago it went to around the £1.20 mark and then went down to 85p a few weeks later after everyone kicked up a fuss.

Problem with people in this country is that they will happily moan about the government but won't actually do anything about it.

If 50% of people decided they had enough and decided to park all their cars in the town centres roundabouts etc im sure the governement would lower the prices.

Pisses me off as a tenner is slowly getting me shorter and shorter distances.

The Highest price in this area: 122.9p
The Lowest price in this area: 115.9p

And to think you pay half that in America and get a gallon of petrol...4 litres...LOL

Why the hell did we invade iraq and afghanistan if we wern't going to see any benefits.
IMO we should have nicked all their bloody oil. Same goes for around the falklands...

As a human being, do you do 45 mpg on orange juice? For your information, orange juice in this country is also a ripoff. Most brands are from concentrate go compare with the prices on the continent, you can get a 1L bottle of genuine orange juice for 50/60p

If 50% of people decided they had enough and decided to park all their cars in the town centres roundabouts etc im sure the governement would lower the prices.

good point

Pisses me off as a tenner is slowly getting me shorter and shorter distances.

Pisses me off, just drive slower and slower (I wish more people were doing this). It tends to be funny when it's a police car sitting behind you and you're doing 40 in a 60.

Why the hell did we invade iraq and afghanistan if we wern't going to see any benefits.

You thought stealing oil from another country would give you cheaper prices ? People are that gullible, damn. You honestly never thought it would bring more profits to the oil companies, and more tax money to the state ? Icing on the cake: that war was waged with your tax money. Yes the same one that fills (or does it) your tank.

splashed out on tesco momentum 99 RON the other night,1.20 in my local tesco, put 30 quid in just to give the engine a clean out. Prefer it to VPOWER as personally it does go for that bit longer, plus the pumps in my local shell are a bit shit, charge you as soon as you press that trigger, with or without the fuel flowing

hard_corejoeboy

Okay a bottle of coke lol

Yeah im often sat on the motorway doing 50-60mph at times. Takes the chronic piss. Should be lowered to around 85p i think that reasonable enough.

The government is doing all these cuts at the moment so we can pay off our debts.
Who the hell do we owe this money too?!

Can't be banks, must be other countries, in which case i say fuck em if they were stupid enough to lend money to a powerful nation thaty powerful nation should turn round and say screw you we can't afford it and what are you going to do about it lol

A typical journey to a petrol station:

I get in my car

*The car has its road tax and insurance paid

I turn the key

* petrol flows that i pay over £1 for

I move off using more petrol.

Get to the petrol station

* I fill up putting more tax money into the governments hands
* I buy some cigarettes putting even more tax money into the governments hands
* Maybe buy a magazine or sweets etc putting 17.5% into governements hands

This is on top of the money i get taxed when im paid and national insurance and i also get taxed on savings in a bank account.

Robbing bastards i say. Anarchy all the way i say!

im a diesel man and its about 122.9 around here, dont really fuss though because at the end of the day it needs to be in the car, seems the further away i go the cheaper it is, but then im using more fuel to get to the other station, so no point doing that lol, i get around 200miles out of £20 anyway :y:

Does anybody know the percentage tax we pay on petrol?

hard_corejoeboy
27th October 2010, 10:44
Just had a quick look and its over 60% we pay in tax so say its a £1 per litre the government gets 60p of that.

Bloody hell just thought about that.

1000 cars get 50 litres of fuel each at say £1=£50,000

Government makes £30,000

Not bad, nice little earner!

LOL im really getting into this.

Let's say i drive a prius

On top gear it was getting 40mpg? Which is roughly what i get.

So they don't have to pay tax woop woop what a massive saving.

So basically you pay whatever they are brand new for a really krap krap car that doesn't do as many mpg as a normal diesel but you don't have to pay road tax. Bloody clever marketing playing on people's fears over the environment.

I've just realised i hate the government, whoever it is in power. And im joining the facebook group Jeremy Clarkson for PM lol

Doesn't really get to me the price of fuel because it just sips at it, like fine wine. Get easily over 40 mpg without trying.

Think its about 115.9 round here. £20 gets me about 17.5 litres. I feel it shouldn't be much over £1 a litre though.

Tbh, no matter if it is 113.9p or 123.9p... You are still going to buy it and it's only an extra few of quid per tank, if it's a few more pence per litre.

Ranges from 113.9p to 123.9p round near me.

Have to disagree with you here, not that im a tight cunt by any means, but if its only a couple of p here a couple of p there, it could add up to 2 or 3 quid difference when you fil up, work that out over a year and how much you fill up, your looking maybe around 200/300 quid more +

Saxo tank: 45 litres. 45 x 10 pence= £4.50 difference per tank. 1 tank per week = £234 more per year.

Think about what £234 could buy you. Think that you might have to pay 123.9 on January 1 2011

and exactly why I'm doing 55 tops in a 70 now. It's always more tax, but I ain't seen more wages in a while...

What I don't get is, how come they manage to charge VAT on fuel duty and have it being legal. Tax taken off your salary, then vAT/fuel duty combo. Technically speaking, that's tax on tax on tax.

And then brace yourself for more potholes and more stone chips this winter.

And then brace yourself for more potholes and more stone chips this winter.

Haha i have an answer to this one. Im going nurburgring style and spraying in paint (with sarcastic writing) around all the potholes/bumps/krap roads in the whole of southend and will hopefully shock the council into action. Takes the chronic piss some roads are virtually off limits to me and the car and in some places my lower strut brace even scrapes on a normal road!
