not that i dont find all terrorsit attacks etc very shocking and horrific, but in these insatances its light hearted. as above, parents etc may not find it very good,

Not arguing, just a question, but if you were in the army and you were home from Afghan or Iraq or wherever, and you personally knew people who'd been killed out there and had had a few drinks, would you not be a bit upset by it? Don't think people appreciate the sort of damage going out there and seeing friends die and knowing you could be next can do on people in the army, let alone the young lads in there that could probably benefit mentally from being a bit older... I think if I'd lost friends and saw someone making a mockery of it, I'd probably be a bit upset, but that's me, interested in others opinions, especially those who actually serve...

I can see where you're coming from with that but I think the main thing to consider is that everyone will react in a different way. Obviously some people will feel more strongly about the point than others so of course, some people will get offended.

Personally (seeing as you asked for opinions) I wouldn't be offended by it (having lost a family member) as I would see that it is only being done to dress up.

Everyone's view will be different though

I'm smart enough to realise it's a joke, you might be dressed terrorist, doesn't mean they are Afgan, or Iraqi though. It's a headscarf, so just typical desert dress, except you're a bomber, just sterotypes innit. Sure families of the people off 7/7 would be offended to, there feelings do matter, but everyone has the right to be offended, it's your problem if you chose to take offence to something, we have a right to wear what we want, and if I was being racist, that could counter the whole Burka argument, everyone should dress up as a bomber. Could be a good campaign/protest dress :p.

*PLEASE NOTE - I'M NOT RACIST, I DO NOT THINK WOMEN WHO WEAR BURKAS ARE TERRORISTS, THEY ARE OPPRESSED, BUT NOT TERRORISTS, TERRORISTS ARE DELUDED ANIMALS* if i was being sterotypical, most suicide bombers are men, so that (Burkas) would be stupid anyway.

What is even more risky is if you browned up, you would probably get attention for Asians that believe you're taking the piss, again, they would be idiots. I'd do that to :D.

I'm 100% with you there and I've always believed that offense can only really be taken, never given... and what you just said applies to an ideal world though. I know people shouldn't go smashing bottles off peoples heads for this sorta thing, but it does happen for much much less, so why take the risk? Drunken fights and arguments happen over such silly petty things, and this is potentially one of them I feel... And I mean I know you're smart enough, I'm smart enough ordinarily, but if my circumstances were changed and I'd had a drink I can't really say!

The reason I wouldn't be offended is because I wouldn't see their costume as a means to cause offence to the situation. It would be very personal to take offence to a fancy dress costume IMO. I wouldn't see it as them condoning the actions of terrorism etc just more mocking the persona :y:

Maxstarr, I suppose if you go out and expect people might have an issue then at least you won't get caught out. I wouldn't let it stop you :y:

Taliban aren't really described as terrorists, just as soldiers fighting for what they believe in, as opposed to nutters willing to cause chaos.

Is it a bit like the whole ni**er situation though? (not being racist, let me continue) Like where black people go round calling each other ni**er, like "Whassup ma ni**er" but if a white guy ever said that he'd get blasted or stabbed or something?
