just read on The Sun, that there could be future plans to send out astronauts to start setting up a human colony on Mars, but you couldn't ever come back. heres the article

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3199728/Scientists-seeking-astronauts-to-fly-to-Mars-and-never-come-back.html

was just having a quick think about it and would you do it ? i think i would what an experience it would be and to be the first people to set up on another planet would be an amazing feat ! you would be known throughout all of history !

Makes me wonder if humans would evolve to adapt to the conditions on there, and what they'd end up looking like..

i think it would be amazing to be the first people up there setting the foundations for other humans to move. it literally is setting up a new world !

Can I choose where?

You're missing out though. There are some amazing articles on page 3, titillating even.

Not that I buy papers hardly ever. Only if I'm going on a train or am in a cafe.

this planet should be sorted out before we go fucking up another one.

Totally agree.
Most Countries are complaining and working against Global warming.

So is this water vapor?
http://internationalspacestationpictures.com/images/shuttle_launch.jpg

NO!
Its gas, Emissions, fossil fuels being burned, whatever you want to call it

Lets keep firing shit into space so if we cant heal this planet, we will go fuck up another one.
Yes I understand its fascinating to explore the depths of space, but there are still large chunks of this planet that are still undiscovered, unexplored, above and below sea level! :wall:

Think of the money thrown into space that could be spent else where.
Deficit? No?

Actually yes.

When burning solid fuels the majority of exhaust is water, or at least hydrogen and oxygen

So what? You don't drive I guess, use Solar Power, or another renewable energy source and cause no problems for the planet...

Most of that is steam though... It's not Petrol, it's Liquid Oxygen that is used.

Note the same quote as the one I read years ago

" Space shuttle fuel consumed in a launch: 3.5 million pounds
Gasoline consumed in one day in the US - 2,500 million pounds
In other words, one space shuttle launch is equivalent to about two minutes
of gasoline consumption in the United States. "

But I didn't know about the Liquid Oxygen. I'll STFU now :y:
