Not sure if I have the correct name for it here , but its the threaded shaft on the stub axle that the staked nut goes onto to hold the hub in place.
I've just replaced my rear shoes and bought new hub nuts. The drivers rear side one needs force to go on (not threading it but not far off) proberly due to previous castle nut not being unstaked properly and then reused so its done some slight damage to the thread.
The nut goes on but not freely using finger pressure like it should but I reckon it'll be fine when staked.
Just wanted to know if that threaded shaft is replacable or would I be looking at a new stub axle.

Hope that makes sense and cheers for any replies !

no they are a standard part, just splined into the trailing arm. Generally come out with a big hammer and go back in the same way. There are different types so be careful, certainly 3 and 4 stud stubs are different. Let me know if you want one as we have different types

So you just belt em through the back plate and then smack the new one in ?

How much for a standard 1998 1.1 ( 3 stud wheel , drivers side) ?

Cheers

Cheers , gotta adjust my rear brakes at the weekend so I'll see what sort of condition its in but may well be in touch to order a replacment.

Can you leave the stubaxle in situ when you hammer the old one out / new one in . Reckon it'll take some brutal whackin to shift !

they don't take that much shifting but that depends on the size of the hammer lol
