Was driving yesterday and at a few roundabouts halfway round it felt like there was no power steering which felt quite dangerous. On my MOT there was an advisory for front cv boot needing attention - nothing to do with this? Or does it sound like a PAS problem?

Pump could be on the way out, check the fluid level as well.

Will have a min and max level on it, also the pipes are prone to wearing and leaking on lowered saxo's
There usally 30-50 pound second hand.

before you buy a pump check the connections to the pump ( plug ) as this get damp or coroded inside ! i have sealed mine up now and wrapped them in electrical tape , works fine now , another prob i had with the pas was fixed by my local electrician this was a fault with the circuit too it he used a code reader on it to locate the problem , problem solved cheaper than a pump ;)

check fluids, leaks and electricals are all good 1st as mentioned.
pas can turn off due to low battery charge or alternator failure.

Am fed up with car now so once its fixed im selling up or breaking up. Can't be assed with a shitty french car that costs me more to fix than to modify!

PAS is either on its way out (usually whine like fuck) or alternator is on its way out :P

I've just had enough. I could have bought an evo for what i've spent. It has to stop somewhere..
