never had one before so cant really comment on them, but when i asked about them over on rallye reg i was told not to bother and a standard clutch would be more than upto the job

the problem with fast road clutches is that they tend give a really stiff clutch pedal, due to the stronger springs on the clutch cover, making driving in traffic and start stop situation more awkward :y: but other than that will be much more durable if you like to thrash you car often :P

Sounds like my old Clio's clutch pedal was really stiff but must be a good one as its sone 183,000 odd miles on the same clutch, its a Diesel aswell!
I got used to it pretty quickly, however getting in other peoples/other cars its a bit weird then adjusting back to a lighter one.

Do not go near Techniclutch. They sell OEM clutches and say they are uprated.I fell for it a few years ago.
Google them and you will get nothing but bad feedback about them.

nearly all the clutches ive replaced, and thats alot! have been techniclutch oem units, and have never had a prob with 1, only prob i ever had was a manufacturing fault in one of the thrust bearings and it collapsed after less then 1 mile, techniluch give me a new bearing and refunded the price euro parts charged me as compen for fitting, only as i couldnt prove how much fitting was being as though i done it myself

+1 these and the L.U.K ones can take pretty much anything you can throw at them no need for a fast road clutch.

I had a L.U.K clutch on my dubbed up golf gti 1.8t, was really stiff and at first hard work, but once your leg muscles have adjusted it easy as normal! + very very strong + no sliping and she pushed 255 bhp at da wheels!!! :y:

My point is aimed at the fact the clutches they sell and advertise are NOT uprated items. They are standard clutches so thats probably why the 1s you have fitted have been fine.
When i had my Cav Gsi Turbo,i ordered a fast road organic clutch with heavy duty cover. It came and my mate was like wtf, thats just a standard clutch with a fancy red cover. Then when he tried to fit it,it was the wrong 1.I needed the car asap and couldnt wait for another to come so rang them up and asked for a refund. No can do,we will send you another clutch or a credit note.Couldnt afford to be out of pocket so had to wait until they sent another clutch.Got it right 2nd time round and all was well till 3mths later and surprise surprise,it started to slip.
Seriously, type Techniclutch into google and i bet my left bollock the whole 1st page is nothing but bad feedback.Im surprised they are still trading tbh.
