When driving along I get a banging noise that sounds like its coming from the back drivers side? Any ideas what it could be?

Is it like a knocking noise, almost like the exhaust is loose, if so i've got the same problem on mine and 3 garages have told me that they can't find owt wrong with it ?

Rear beam loose/ on its way out? I get shit loads of knocking from the rear end of mine. I know that the rear beam is on its way out, could also be the exhaust/ arb's as mentioned above.

i'm in similar situation.... coming from rear, i posted this on another thread yesterday -

will get my mechanic to check this out. would this make this noise. the only way i can describe this noise is when i'm turning, forwards or backwards, left or right, normally when steering is on full lock. it makes a pipe snapping metal ping! sound if something is snapping or metal hitting metal? one turn-one loud ping. its worrying me in case its something dangerous and my mechanic can't pinpoint it. being the only car we got at mo and the wife uses it with the children

arb plate passanger side knocking...

This is like a ping noise as said. Mine was loose. Tightened it up. Job done. No more pinging.

It normally happens on uneven ground or round bends when the ARB loads up. It doesnt happen on straight bits of roads or over even bumps generally.

my mechanic has recently changed the torsion bar, bushes and bearings. took it for a drive, the ping noise isn't as bad but is still there on uneven roads and when i corner to the left (left hand down). even when i reverse park left hand down on steering wheel. took it back and mentioned the arb plates and end bolts. apparently one arb plate came with the part he replaced and used the other which was on the car. whats his next move? he's says he's gonna check the arb plates now, wouldn't he have noticed that when he changed the torsion bar?

ARB plate bolts have to be pretty tight and thread locked. If you dont they just undo and to start with you will get a high pitch ping but it wont be long and you will end up with the end plate coming away from the ARB and the dirt and water destroying the bearings in your trailing arms.
