depends what track your doing really and how hard you push the car tbh.
Croft for example is fine for OE discs and pads.
But say rockingham in field, you would fry them within a couple of laps.
I can sort you out some yellow stuff at a decent price if you want and pick them up from mine, but tbh i only get them a few ££ cheaper than sites on the net.
Think my mate might have some lightly used ones actually, loads of life left on them. He might do you them cheap ;)

Agreed - depends on the track and your ability.
I can recommend the yellow stuff pads, little numb but will defo stop you

hammer into corner, brake late and hard, drop two cogs and power?
Smooth it out slow it all down to be quicker and save your poor brakes

But is yellow stuff not for more powerful cars? Also would they be too much for road use?

If you are going to be spending money on good pads, stay clear of anything EBC related. They are utter wank ime.Standard pads are better than any of the EBC range.

get bigger brakes, initial cost is greater, but price of pads is less, ive got brembos on with oe mintex(£27 a pair), even after serioulsey hard driving ive still not pushed the brakes to test them properly yet, tried like fook..... i can easily push my foot an the wheels lock, but thats not testing, no matter how fast i go and how late i brake (even shitting myself at not being able to stop) ive still always stopped metres earlier then ive needed to .......

Generally i would agree ebc are shite but having used the yellowstuff r pads they genuinely are decent, numb though, little feedback but they will stop you.
Personally love my ds2500 pads, brake dust isnt that bad either having used mintex 1144 pads

In what way are they shite?
OEM better than the new yellow stuff r or bluestuff compound (for track use). Obviously not lol
Granted the yellowstuff r pedal feels a bit wooden. But for £56 (depending in application). They are hard to beat.

Ive had numerous cars with Greenstuff pads fitted.Ive managed to fade them quicker than OEM pads after a bit back road blasting.
Ive had Redstuff pads fitted in High-Spec 4 pots on my old Pulsar. On the road they were crap, from cold they were lethal, around Knockhill they were just as bad.No pedal feel atal and they just didnt have the bite they should have had for track pads.Esp in 4 pots.
If your spending decent cash on them, pay a bit more imo and go for the DS2500 or Mintex 1144's.

redstuff and greenstuff are shite. But also they are not classed as track pads, when i first got yellows, the guy at EBC said to not even waste my time with green or reds.
Only every used yellow, value for money they are spot on. Mintex 1144s i wont touch again i personally didnt like them, i used a full front set at croft with my wilwoods 4pots, but again they are classed as fast road/light track use.
Looked at getting pagids but for the EK they are expensive, and can't see them being that much better for more than double the price.
