my m8 just got a zetec s and he swears itll kick a vts all over the shop. bnut ino a vtr will out acclerate it, but ive read up on this and apparantly its better round corners etc, top gear or sumits did a test and even tho it was underpowered compared to vts it still beat it round a track,,, lets have ur shit on that lol

My girlfriend has now got a Zetec S, so ive hard a really gud drive with it now. They seem a little underpowered considering they are a 1.6 16v. Quite torquey lower down the rev range but not so much further up. VTR should be able to take one on easy (on a track that is..)
BUT, they do handle very very well, feel great to drive and very solid.
Against a VTS there would be no competition....
There slow for a 1.6 16v. A vts would kill it.
Vtr would probably be a good match for it.

^^ Agreed ^^
Funnily enough a Zetec S had a go at me last night in my VTS and did pretty well. I can only assume it was modified as I didn't leave it like I thought I would but the outcome was never in quesion ;)

It all depends who is driving the cars.... if you've got a confident driver in a VTS and a not so confident driver in the ZetS, then the VTS is bound to win.
This debate has been done 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times before and it all boils down to the Saxo boys will stick up for the Saxo and so the ZetS gets cussed...... you're asking on a Saxo Forum, so what do you think the result will be?

sorry but i get so bored of theses whos cars faster than posts............
........the person with the zetec is obviously happy with it hence they bought it - u r happy with your saxo hence u bought it
I've had a go with a standard zetec s and we was basically side by side!

I eat them alive. You'd think not with it being a 16v.
Power to wieght ratio i think has the advantage.
Its not how fast you drive, its how you drive fast !!!
What ever car you maybe racing its all down to how big your bollocks are.

My bollocks are a fair size but I intend to keep them inbetween my legs by not racing and having a crash

Small, i tend to empty them a far bit, Rather get my jollys of with a girl then racing two small powered cars around the streets.

90/98bhp VTR vs 102/103bhp Zetec-S
Very close to be honest. And yes... the S is very underpowered for what it is.

The only way for him to find out actually would be to have someone else drive both cars round a track, driving them in exactly the same fashion, putting exactly the same ammount of petrol and tyre pressure in. All this talk of "Yeah, he needs to race you round a track!" is complete rubbish as it would be an unfair comparison.

In the wet I think the zetec-s would win off the lights like it did against me as I found that I couldn't put the power down and kept wheel spinning. smileys/smiley9.gif . I think the vts would win tho like I did once i got going. I do not think they are as good as people say they are but thats my opinion.
