Blue around selected area when changing it... Help?

When ever ive been trying to recolour alloys etc it allways ends up with like a blue glow around the area ive selected.

Say ive highlight an alloy with polygonal lasso for example...

Then try to recolour it. This happens:

(dw i dont recolour that bad^^)

The above is just so you can see what i mean quickly. There blue tint around the egde.

Any ideas?

invert the selection and then use the burn tool a wee bit around the edge
that should sort you out
