Stiff gear changes

Hi,

I bought a 2003 saxo VTR last Saturday and as soon as I picked it up I noticed the gear Changes were quite stiff. I checked a mates saxo and his weren't stiff like mine at all.

After searching round I reckon the problem is down to dry gear linkages. I am going to grease them up myself but I couldn't find anywhere that said the best grease to use. I was thinking white spray grease but I'm not really to sure.

Could anyone recommend which grease to use?

I don't think the resistance from a tiny dry joint on the gear linkages is going to be very noticable. As they are just small push on cup joints

red bearing grease. but the linkages wont be causing the stiffness in the changes.

If the linkages have been took off recently they may have been conected back up wrongly
