VT bumper on the front, or standard flatty bumper with a laguna splitter?

i really like the back VT bumper too, but i think i'd have to get the arches with it as its not the exact same size on the sides :( ?

what you all recon?

tbh i would love to kit up a flatty, then eventually get a VTR when im 18/19...but im just abit unsure :(

thanks, D

That's what I was thinkin at first but don't I have to cut the back arches?

Plus it would be like a fake vtr on a 1.1 :(

It can be done mate. I VT kitted a flatty last year and its not too difficult, you do need to cut the rear arches though and do abit of welding to get the rear VT arches to fit properly.
I wouldn't bother getting VT bumpers if you aren't going to put the arches on aswell, would still just look like a flatty lol.
You need to weigh up how long you are keeping the car for though, you say you are looking at getting a vtr at 18/19. You must be in the latter half of being 17, so if you are going to get rid in 6months do you feel its worth it?

nah mate i'm 16, 17 in 10 days, theory day after, and test a month later...ill be keeping the car for around a year, possibly more...then once insurance isn't too much ill be looking at VTR's, i just think for a beginner a flatty isnt too bad i suppose, there's a guy on here who put the laguna splitter on a flatty, lowered and it looks lush! then i saw a flatty with the VT bumper and werent sure what i liked more :(

Ah fair enough mate, I just summised you had passed already etc

If you havent passed yet and the car isn't being used then I would set to work on the rear arches :y:

Go for the VT kit, and put the laguna splitter on the VT bumper ;)

ah possibly matey, ive spent quite a bit on there car already and hardly have anything left for mods atm untill the bday money rolls in :(

ill be getting it insured on my bday to be driving provisionally, ive driven alot before stupidly but stopped as i was getting close to actually being legal and didnt want to risk it. ill be driving provisionally with my mate whos 21, been driving 4 years so its all good, so no mummy in the car i can drive my own way :D

thinking practically, i think im just going to wack a laguna splitter on till atleast after christmas when i have some extra money to then get a whole VT kit from down the scrappy...i think that would be best anyway, what you think?

I would go VT kit for definate, but it depends on what you like mate, your driving it not me ;)

If you can't afford the VT kit now then obviously you can't do that just yet, but if you can I would do it then you can be doing the work while the car isnt in use.
Look into the cupra splitters aswell, they fit and look quite nice :y:

yeh ive decided mate, gonna get splitters for front and back on standard bumpers for now, then colour code my whole car, then after christmas get a VT bumper with the standard splitter to beef it up a lil :) seen a few on here like that and they looked beautiful!

Wish I could afford it! My mates selling a mk1 R reg VTS for £1000, lowered, rims and tints...but I'm only just turning 17 no way I would afford to insure it :(
