Pixie

The point for this thread was to have silence for those who fought for our country and lost there lives.

Now stop the crap!

Manu today isnt about the legality or reason for the afgan war. It about remembering the soldiers that died during the war irrespective of why they were there.

Silence was observed in my surgery, I even told the patient to be quiet as it was 2 mins silence, we even stopped working to observe it.

How about getting some respect for our troops who have lost their lives in wars, if it wasn't for those people we would not be here today. So before trying to get people rubbed the wrong way Menu just gtfo.

Sorry Pixie. I have respect for veterans, but I funking hate war celebrations.

How the hell can you call this a celebration? This is to remember those who have fought to oppose injustice, and to remember all those who have given their lives trying to protect others.

Without them you would probably not even be here!

Are you backward? Seriously?

How is it a celebration? It's not "celebrating" the fact that many good men have lost their lives. Seriously dislike your comment tbh

well said, 20 years ago a guy i worked with said it wouldn't be in his lifetime and maybe not mine, but certainly in my childrens lifetime a foreigner will be running the UK and probably be a Muslim and there would be civil war within the UK. He was a very educated fellow and to be fair his predictions are all heading towards the reality.

we had two minuites silence at work (santander call centre) and if you were on a call you had to carry on talking, i would have hated to have been that person stuck on a call. they were playing automated messages at 11 explaining theyd have to wait for the call to be taken because of the 2 minuites silence. really nice i thought

if this country had any sense of respect, they would bring the troops home.

Seeing as the silence started over armistice day, might not be up to date with current affairs, but I'm pretty sure they're two different wars.
