Cheapest place to get old iphone repaired?

Old style iphone.

its a bit buggered after it got wet at a beach several months ago. Still turns on, but screen is very dark.

Where is the best place to get it fixed?
Or if it is likey to be an easy fix, i've got a mate who can more or less fix anything electrical.

you talking about the iphone 1 or the iphone 3g?

I had this problem on my iphone 3GS, i replaced the lcd screen section, but that did not fix it. You could try replacing screen, and the sensors on the digitaliser but I could not guarentee it working. I ended up paying apple 149 quid for repair.
