You need to wire a remote cable into the back of your head unit. This will basically switch the amp on when the head unit is on.
If you head unit doesn't have a remote output - you can splice into your switched live on the back of the loom of the head unit, and run a cable to the remote on your amp.
Will fix it.

Yeah as above really.. You need to find either the remote cable, or the other igniton live. Another not so great alternative is to put a switch in the current line, not ideal, but works.

If you pull your stereo out mate most new(ish) stereos have a blue remote wire but it should have a liittle black print or tag on it saying remote. Run a cable from that to the remote connector on the amp and that should solve your problem :D

your remote cables to connect the stereo to the sub if its on all the time is not your problem, what you'll need to swap you red and yellow wires around behind your head unit, so instead of being red with red, yellow with yellow its needs to be red/yellow on both and then you connect your remote cable depending on what sort of head unit you've got to either a blue and white cable or just slot it into the power (red) cable on the head unit and it should work
this should also be in the audio section

This is if the head unit is losing its settings, and means it will get a constant feed?
This isn't right for what to do.
He needs to connect his remote cable from his amp either into the blue remote cable at the back of the head unit loom, or needs to splice into whatever colour his switched live is. Usually yellow.

but if he hasnt swapped the red/yellow cables round he will still get a constant live due to the way the head units work
