go and look around in your cars on the site and you'll find a colour that will fit

when you say 'spray' your car do you mean with cans or with spray gun?

Just wondered if any body thinks black is hard to get the same colour all over the car as parts appear brighter or darker, most people here would never dream of spraying a car them selves and would prefer 2 spend £2000 on a paint job, just want to know if anybody’s got any experience in this if they could help.

unless you have experience doing this, don't attempt it mate!!!
you'll need an air compressor, spray gun, parts all primed properly and a steady hand.
will look really shit if you don't really know what your doing,
ok granted you might get away with the odd pannel doing it yourself but not a full respray mate

ive all ready started so theirs no going back, theirs no problem getting the gun and compressor, all i want to know is black the hardest colour to achieve the best results with, one of my mates has doesn’t this before but he thinks i should spray it silver as the vtr kit i bought is already in it and silver is easer to spray, but the kit came all scratched when i bought it off ebay so i might as well start over. ive got it down to a bare metal finish and smoothed it down with firstly p 400 then p800, so its all good for rust proofing and then primer if anybody knows what to do next or has any spraying tips i will be pleased to hear them.

omg! your gonna be a skillfull cunt to pull this off!! if it works then fair play to you! but you gotta realise if you do it yourself differant panels are gonna be differant shades but thats the risk you've taken

you put me in the shits now as i only just heard about this guy who sprayed his car and it came out different shades, in the end he had to take it to a spray shop to get it done, i think when you spray you have to keep it continuous over each coat of paint so it does not dry differently, any other better help ill be pleased

tip for you mate. do tens/ twentys of light powder mists when spraying!! DO NOT spray one are heavy cause then you get into trouble!!!! oww and evan if you dont think a powder mist does must at first, just stick at it and it will be worth it!! smileys/happy.gif

spraying is a piece of piss if anything getting shades the same with black will be easier as long as its a full respray, as with anything if one panel is freshly sprayed and the rest of the panels have 6 year old paint on them its not going to look teh same

right mate.............
no.1 - VERY BRAVE or VERY STUPID
no.2 - If this all goes pete tong.... gonna cost you a fortune to fix as you will have already bought paint etc and wasted it... plus will have to be totally stripped AGAIN.
now for the tips
No. 1 - Hope you have gave it a good few coats of primer and not just the one (Also used the proper primer as it's different for plastic parts)
No. 2 - Work from the top down, trying to keep the gun about 6" away from your target, this will give you an even finish
no. 3 - You'll proberly need a few coats of paint to get the best results so don't try and do it all in 1 coat......won't work
All the best

if it goes wrong it will cost you in excess of £1000
id never ever attempt it but black must be easier to match than a colour

someone post on here in the photos section the other day after spaying
theres black.
looked mint do a search for it
flat the primer down mate then the topcoat will lay flatter and less `peely`. also with black, preperation has to be spot on as you will see any imperfections, that with colurs like white you would`nt
You rubbed thwe whole car down to bare metal??
I'm all for having a go yourself... thats what Ive done with most of my car. Just make sure you apply lots of thin coats and not just one heavy one!
Make sure the base colour is perfect (rubbing it down if needs be) before you put the lacquer on.
Ideally you need to be in a dust proof environment too. If you're working in an enclosed garage, wet the floor so that dust sticks to the floor and doesnt blow around as you spray with the gun.
Good luck smileys/smiley14.gif

Balls of steel. When you do it post the final pictures up so we can see how it looks. When coming to the edge of the car do not flick the wrist out and tilt the gun to the side as those areas will have a thinner layer of paint. Keep the gun parallel with the car at all times> Good Luck.
