its always been the same its because they charge a extra 15% to cover you on your way home and back as rush hour is when most minor insurance claims are made.

essentially yes... but am not sure if you have to tick it if you only occasionaly use your car to go to work, since i live close by i walk but if the weathers really bad i'll drive there.

best to just call them up and ask really :)

im not telling them i commute in mine because i wont be driving in rush hour like all them 9-5ers do, and roads are dead at 11pm when i finish so can get fucked if im paying 15% extra for fuck all.

I think you also have to tick the commuting if you use it to go to college/uni place of study. Not sure though.

I had this issue with admiral when i wrote my vtr off. white van pulled out infront of me smack job done end of the vtr was dealing with the insurance at the road side while waiting for recovery and they asked where where you going at the time of the accident i said work. to which they said your not covered to drive to any places of employment on your policy. Eventually i paid £20 to upgrade my dead policy to commuting as well or i would of had no insurance.

that is a standard thing if you use your car for work, which is a bit cheeky when they charge silly moneyas it is.

but in my experience admiral are shite! im with them at the minute on a multicar policy. the VR6 got hit by an arctic back in october, after phonecalls, and letters, and witness statements its still sat outside the front of the flat with the 3/4 caved in and a smashed back light. theyve authorised the repair, but just aret doing anything about it, i was told about 5 times, youll have a courtesy car tommorow, never happened! £2500 a year policy and they cant even do their job properly!:wall::wall::wall:

Financial omburdsman is the next thing on the list to get in touch with!

If they don't jump through hoops at the mention of a financial ombudsman I'd be very surprised.

I'm going with Admiral soon enough, cheapest out there and gonna add on my forthcoming weekend toy for very little extra.
