I lost my locking nut at the weekend when I was working on my brakes. Think i tightened the wheel bolts on then left the lock nut on so its lying on some road somewhere. Anyways its one of the ones thats circle and has 4 pins so no simple way of removing it. Went to a garage today and they said £48, £12 a wheel then, does that seem a decent price or should I check a few others?

I would go with Tonto's response, a good old hammer never fails to fix anything...can't go wrong with some brute force

Depends what kind of nut it is, if its one of the round ones where the key is inside the nut. i got a socket that was a bit smaller than the nut. bashed it on with a hammer. worked perfectly. use it for all of the others as well doesnt ruin it!
