Hi guys,

I need some help identifying whats wrong with my car.

Recently its started making a really loud squeeling noise, sounds like a belt in my opinion. It happens when im changing down gear, for example if i was in fourth coming to a round about and had to change down to third, as soon as it hits the bite this squeeling will start for about 10 seconds then stop. It seems to happen more in the cold aswell. If i had to say i think its coming from the right hand side of the engine bay.

Can someone tell me what this is please

Cheers

Most likely alternator belt. Turn the engine OFF and give the belt a poke. It should be nice and tight. If it has any play it's time to adjust or replace.

Release bearing squeeling? Or a gearbox whine as Tom said
