Hey

I had my saxo serviced a week ago I dont know whether this will affect it, but anyway when i get into second gear if i accelerate more powerfully than usual my revs jump up by about 1,000 and then go back down, but does not jump when idle of accelerating softly,

anyone got any ideas as to what this could be and would it affect fuel consumption

thank you

Is it as though it hits a fake limiter?

Need more info. all in gear etc and as db sax said, as if you hit a limiter.

Sounds like a slipping clutch - the more you accelerate the more pressure you put on the clutch. To get a really good slip floor it up a hill in high gear and watch those revs fly

Mine did this, if accelerated hard power kicked in then disappeared and came back .. I did full service and it's fine now.

It don't do it in first gear but in all the others, it feels like the clutch is pressed in, then goes after a few seconds, like drive Along and press your clutch it feels like that

Release bearing, clutch plate could even be the input shaft collar.

Is that a simple fix, how much would it be to fix?

110£ labour for any of it. New release bearing is £30 full clutch kit is £95 if its the input shaft then new gearbox time! £50ish to £100 for a gearbox.
