yer is abit strange using 2 spaces ur more likely to get into trouble for doing that.

At my current work i park in a large car park and there is 1 space with a little patch of grass either side on its own so me and the managers fight for that space lol

I have my own space there now that i think is the safest but yer i have 3 dints and a scrape where its happened to me too was mint when i bought it smileys/smiley7.gif

yep you might also get a nice £30 fine for doing that. my mum got a £30 fine for doing that and there was only 2 other cars in the car park at the time

i only do it in morrisons car parks and that, not a chance id tkae my car into a pay and display car park...

why is is strange to take up 2 spaces to stop your car gettin dented??

DarylVTR
19th May 2006, 00:47
personally i think its abit out of order to take up 2 spaces in a car park how pissed off would you be if some1 did it and it was a busy car park. Not suprised people get fined for it, there isnt much you can do about avoiding it, if it happenes i guess thats life! hardly any cars are spotless.

Know where ur comming from with suggesting it but its not really an overall solution

Yates
19th May 2006, 00:49
as i said not in pay and display car parks, but in supermarket i do, right at the back, even if u take up one space at the back of the car park, when you come back someone always parks right next to you for some stupid reason

DarylVTR
19th May 2006, 00:54
lol that is true, i do find even if you park rite at the back people still do the same in the immediate spaces either side, that rlly is odd!

prob do it just to piss you off.

I BLAME OLD PEOPLE FOR THE CAUSE OF CAR PARK DAMAGE

They swing their doors open without a care in the world, i watched an old duffer reverse into a 06 plate clio last week in our car park and he didnt even turn an eye before driving off!!! smileys/smiley3.gif

I know a guy who kicked some1s car cos he felt like and the the bloke totally ruined his in return LOL

If they dont have the decency to pay for your damage why should theirs get away unharmed

Tough. I always use 2 spaces. If people showed more respect towards other peoples property and actually learnt to get their little metal box into a marked space without twatting the other little metal boxes next to them, then i wouldn't have to use 2 spaces....

How do i feel when i see cars taking up 2 spaces? I just feel annoyed that the driver has to resort to doing that to protect his vehicle.

DarylVTR
19th May 2006, 02:16
i tell you wot happens thou, you park in the middle of 2 spaces...... great you think my car will be dent free.....

you get back and some old duffers have squeezed into the 2 half spaces either side and taken your wing mirrors totally off lol now that is the reality of the matter!

or some1 will think wot a twat not realising why you have done it and prob key your car anyway

Smithy
19th May 2006, 02:20
Well if "some old duffers" try and sqeeze their cars into whats left of the spaces then good luck to them. As for keying the car because its parked in 2 spaces..... don't think so.

I always have and always will park in 2 spaces since i got the evo and nothing will make me stop.

lol you make it sound as if your god!

but i know wot u mean but it just doesnt help anything ive seen people trying to squeeze into 1/2 spaces loads and failing , if they hit your car they arnt going to stop anyway so i think its a no win situation

I hate people who take up two spaces when theres no more spaces in the car park.

I also hate it when people dent my door and it pisses me off when cars park too close to your car so then you cant get in! That happened in uni before, even if it was a size frign 8 there was no way of getting into the car because the closeness the person parked, passenger door was broke too so i had to climb through the boot smileys/smiley19.gif

My cars got an identical small dent either side on the rear quarter panels, ill tell u what that is... fucking kids fliging their doors open without a care in the world! bastards. one of them was done by my girlfriends little sister, shes a shit the majority of the time so some angry words were shouted her way- she cried and girlfriend wasnt happy- but shes been careful ever since.

OAP'S are bad, they sling open there doors without a care in the world, i make a point of sitting in my car when old folks park next to me and i have no where else to go..... puts them off when im staring at them, they know what im doing..

19th May 2006, 04:06
thats fair enough dan, i dont believe in parent and child spaces, whats the point? if theyre gonna do that then they may aswel have 'elderly' spaces and 'people who cherish their cars' spaces

I've had it where me and the missus have been to macdonalds for an ice-cream at about half 11 at night, now I went through the drive through and parked up in an open space with only 1 other can in the carpark. This civic (old) parks right next to me, so close that the passenger opens the door and smacks my drivers side, and this all happened while I was in the car.

I was fuming, if it wasn't for the missus, I would have done the same with my wrench.

I just didn't understand, why;

1. she had to park next to me, when there was a WHOLE empty carpark and;

2. why she had to park so close?

I swear the DVLA needs to offer tests in common decency and "opening a door safely while parked".

My girlfriend always parks in parent and kid spots, she trying to tell me something?

I understand what yatesy said, if i ever go to car park, i was park in a few empty spaces because i am so scared.

Last week i was parked in McDonalds and a woman, parked at side and flung her door open. I gave her some right stick...

one thing i dont understand is a family with three kids and a two door!!! kids fighting to get in first while the door repeatedly bangs the car next to it! and girls girls girls im sure i speak for all guys here when i ask that you take your bags off on aproaching the car not have to squeeze down the side to your door coz theres not enough room for you and your bag whilst the buckle!!!! leaves a nice scratch down the car next to you! and cats dont get me started on cats i swear the cat next door waits for me to wash my car goes and sharpens its nails walks through crap and has a bloody party on my roof and slids down the windscreen!
