goes into/onto car related things?
im going through one of these need to sort myself things out atm lol :homme:
and been thinking about all sorts and then was thinking about money and how i should rerally start saving up for the future etc,and my mum n her bf have moved away now so im left at my dads...witch is fine but me and his wife dont get on! but i cant afford a place on my own! (was supposed to be moveing in with the ex mrs......)
anyway more to point been looking at money etc lately and i seam to spend every penny i ern...but never have much to show for it
iv worked out i spend roughly 60% on cars either the 106..or insurance/finance payments on the megane and the rest just on genaral crap!
but part of me thinks fuck it i enjoy it whats the harm! i could be wasteing it on other things or not have a job atall..then the other part thinks i should really start concentrating less on the cars and start saving up etc!
so what do you think you spend on yours then?

I get roughly around 1500 a month ( before tax )
I probably put around 40 quids of fuel a week so thats 160 quid gone.
As i've only just passed my test, its hard to say about modding, but im hoping to get a mod a month done. Next is airbox which will cost between 100 - 200 so nothing major on my car tbh.

Mr_X
18th November 2010, 22:12
in total, everything all in, about 10%
NickJ
18th November 2010, 22:21
Diesel about £60 per month
Insurance about £35 per month
Tax £13 per month
Less than 10% of my wages
Do you need 2 cars? I had to cut out loads of expense in order to get my own mortgage, has all paid off now though

Hardly anything on car/car parts.
Probably about 15% on detailing gear but then I easily make that back from detailing jobs.

For the past few months its been 0%, my wages went on clothes, going out, holiday, paying back debts, food, phonebill and gym!
However now, its back to about 80%.
Break down for me:
£20 a week on diesel however lift sharing now, so £20 every 2 weeks on diesel
£33 a month on gym
£10 a week on food & drink at work
£36 phone bill a month
the rest all goes on the car lol
Insurance and tax are paid outright, cars bought with cash so no debts. Paid back what i owe my parents from helping me buy parts and the cars in my own time.

Why do you have 2 cars?
MikeyW

I don't understand how people pay so much for petrol.
I fill up every month and usually have some left over, drive to work and back every day, 2 miles each way. The odd drive to and thro places.

most of my wages go on bills atm.

but atm the cars starting to decide it wants to break lol so just spent £130 on full service water pump cambelt etc and £120 on an alternator and £40 on wheel bearings.
and tax is at end of the month so thats another £120

till the roof/bumpstrips/doorhandles/interior bits and diamonds get sprayed and i get hold of some wheels and lower it.

i spend too much...
Gary-VTR
19th November 2010, 09:36
£140/month insurance
£120-150/month petrol
Don't really put anything aside for tax/MOT/repairs. Just pay them when need be.
Sometimes I do wish I didn't have as many 'financial commitments' so I could blow loads of money on cars. :(

Basically all of my wage goes into my car..Well at the moment anyway.
Being as i'm a student and work part time I only get around £130 per week, but I'd say for the past couple of months or so I've been averaging around £70-80 a week on my car..on stupid bits aswell really, VT kit, paint, vinyl, brakes etc..
And thats without Tax,mot,Insurance aswell..So when all that comes around they'll be no Modding for the time being, as my insurance is going to be £200-240 a month and then theres fuel etc.
Ahh Joys.

Yeah, Thats by myself... Putting my parents on didn't actually change it that much.
6 months ago i could have insured it for less than £1800, the majority of prices im getting now are £1000 more.
Ive got to insure it though, It'll go down though.....One day:hug:
