Mods please move if its the wrong place. Going to need some technical minded people here!

I know you can test them with a multimeter.

Would this be a suitable one to use?

Looking for the cheapest but best one to use to test relays. I understand you need to be able to see continuity and set it to resistance mode.

Yes that one is fine - you can use any multimeter.

You would want to check the continuity/resistance (any setting on the ohm Ω section).

Put one wire on the 30 pin on the relay (this is the fused high current live) then the other on the 87 pin. With no power on the relay, there should be infinite resistance - no continuity ( ∞ )

Supply power to pin 86 and earth or negative to pin 85. The relay should switch, and there should be little or no resistance between pins 30 and 87 ( 0.000Ω )

If its a 5 pin relay with an 87a connector then there should be continuity between 30 and 87a with no power and none with power.
