Hello peeps, just a quick one. I've searched but can't find my answer!

I'm going to be re-painting the wheels using the very good 'How to guide', but I want to paint the lip a different colour. I'm wondering when would be the best time to paint the outer rim, before or after painting the alloy??

Any advice is much appreciated! :y:

i think you'd have to have to keep the lip prmered and spray it seperately, iknow that youd have to put it on before u laq it, could just buy rim tape aswell

Yeah that's what I thought. I'll just sand it, prime it then tape it up.

I just don't want to then put tape over the painted alloy, to paint the lip, and it then ruin the paint when I take the tape off.

1. primer wheel.
2.rub down primer.
3.paint the lip the colour you wish then wait 24 hours
4.tape up lip and spray rest of wheel.
5. clear coat the job lot and your done.

that's the way they teach you at college just don't use cheap masking tape as it leaves glue on the paint.
