Every Morning and Every Evening when i go to/ return from work My saxo (1.1i Eastcoast) will not start by the key alone, I have to put my foot on the accelerator...sometimes all the way to the floor to get the car running.

The car will then cough and splutter for up to 5 minutes until I can take my foot off the accelerator (The car does not splutter when pedal is down but does when pedal is off and will cut out, unless i do the above for a substancial period of time)

Once this all-deal has taken place and the car is spluttering on its own with any help, I can restart my car and it will run normally (without the aid of the accelerator being down)

FYI: Sometimes my accelerator pedal goes down unassisted almost as if it is an Automatic Choke?! (I hear a higher rev noise also for approx 2-4 seconds)

Any ideas?

I have previously replaced with new parts
ICV
Coil Pack
Sparks
Lamda Sensor
Crank Shaft Sensor
Fuel Filter
Ignition Leads

This is driving me crazy!!! :wall:

This might sound daft but have you checked the battery? Only reason I say this my sisters A3 would't start at the weekend and then it wouldn't start on the jump leads either. Jump leads and a good hoof the the accelerator did the trick tho.

To check the fuel pump...

Lift up the rear bench and you will see two black circle covers, on the passenger one lift it up with a flatty but be careful as the pump is underneath..

Turn the key to ignition and you should hear the fuel pump prime as in make a noise, if it doesnt replace the fuel pump, the job takes 15 mins :)

Check and let me know?
