Uni Work
Applying for Grad jobs.

These two are getting me stressed like mad, It's my final year and I'm trying so hard to do well.
For the past month I've had a terrible pain in the centre of my chest, not had the guts to see my Doctor, Paracetamols seem to help for a bit, now it's getting beyond a joke.
Started working tonight got back and I feel like death,
What should I do?

I'm worried it's something serious and what my Doctor will say.
Feels like someone is constantly stabbing me in the chest.

I think "man up" is a suitable response here.

:( Come on Hannah
Haz I've been trying to Man up for the last month trust me, I don't do "sick" I just fight through it.
But this is getting serious now.
I will see what I'm like in the morning if it's the same I'm gonna see my doctor.

I don't know how to cure stress, I've never been like this before, stress never usually gets to me that's why I have my doubts.

Go see Dr Ron Jeremy, he should be able to clear the blockage in no time

you'll probs get given citalopram or something to help you chill out I've recently been a prick in real life which is nothing like I used to be much more angry but it stemmed from anxiety, get it sorted sooner than later mate

For what it's worth I have potentially got bipolar or schizo but not sure yet :(

Fingers crossed it's not too serious for you bud

Thanks mate great response!
It sounds like just what I am getting, for the time so far it's only felt like it's swolen if you know what I mean, but now I got the occasional "stabbing" sensation like a needle is going in me, that's whats worrying me.

If it's serrious why are you asking a Saxo forum for an answer you already know?
What were you expecting?
" ohh hey I'm a Docor, eat a bowl of coco pops with you anus and you'll be right as rain!"

Kick back, collect yourself and chill out. Getting a doctor to declare you as "Stressed" should be your last resort. It will go on your health record and can come back to haunt you.
Find some time to chill out, even for an hour. Take your mind off things and you'll soon realise that the only obstacle is in your mind :y:
Good luck buddy

probs be a good idea ask a doctor to check it out as well :y:

I'm planning on rejoining the gym and I'm going to start running on weekends and that should take my mind off it.

From a medical perspective it sounds some sort of psychiatric disorder stemming from stress, basing this on your recent behaviour online and current complaints.

Stress - bi-polar, schizophrenia etc

Hope this helps :y:

I know Ryan will see it as baiting you but it seems like the truth to me. You get needy and easily wound up. You've had a good e-bitch tonight and I'm guessing it hasn't helped this issue.

Gee thanks, tell it how it is haha. I have no hope but as I said before if the OP will likely be started on citalipram or similar but it won't kick in for a while, you will find that it sucks to take them though but it's gotta be done apparently :(

It does sound like you need to reduce your stress levels to ascertain whether it is that which is causing the pain. I will hazard a guess that it is.

In which case, seeing as you can't get rid of uni, or applying for jobs etc, you need to get rid of other areas of stress. Which is more than likely to include this forum. The constant backlash you receive on here will not help your stress levels, therefore, stop posting threads like this and you will remove the stress. :y:

Eat healthily, get plenty of exercise, one of the best ways to combat stress is to physically exhaust yourself, that way you get a good nights sleep and are able to keep stress levels lower for longer.

Sorry I was speaking to Aly!

Citalopram is shit. A completely useless drug imo. Its what they put people on first when, mainly when they don't know what's wrong with them and the stress/depression isn't too bad.

24th November 2010, 00:43
I know lol. it's crap, I've been on it for approx 4 or 5 months now and I'm steadily getting worse but just gotta live with it.

Lost my job because of it in an epic fashion nearly got arrested because of the way I just trigger, I'm swaying more towards bipolar but either way I hope it's not too serious or permanent :(

Fingers crossed though I'll be alright, always have been lol :)

Cheers though :)

Thanks really appreciate that Lacey,
got to admit ever since I quit the gym I've piled on the weight, started feeling lethargic and tired, what I'm trying to make clear is I've always had stress but now it seems to be affecting me, I've told Tom all the issues in life I've had some which I don't want to share with Sax-P, the point is I usually cope with stress very well.
Hopefully getting fit eating healthy should help.
Wish there was a thanks button.

Private stuff can be kept private. When you learn how to deal with stress you are sorted for life. Try the technique I suggested. Physical exhaustion will benefit you more than mental exhaustion which accompanies stress.

just also make sure you have a steady sleep pattern, late nights / early mornings are neer a good combination, It will catch up with you and it's never good because if you're anything like me you'll be tired / grumpy therefore more likely to have a go at someone

Not a good thing

Aly, being someone who suffered stress upon 3 years of shit that happened i know what its like, best thing i can say to do is when your with your misses, just rant on about everything on your mind, works like a treat to make you feel better lol makes you feel more relaxed, and so much happier, which really helps you.

There comes a day when things just take their toll you know.....go to the doctors like I have said how many times already, it ain't going to hurt, no where near as much as your chest is now....blimey what is it with you guys, you don't flipping listen and are pussies when it comes to walking into a doctors surgery to explain a problem, you aint going to die or owt, you will be given an examination, maybe some lansoprazole (because I think it is what I have, and trust me stress makes it fucking hurt) then you may have to have a camera down your throat, I did it so surely you can....so get to the doctors!! :panic:

Recently I have been under strain from uni, although i'm a second year, but still worried about next year, for almost 2 weeks I had a constant migraine, it literally wouldn't budge no matter what I took, went to docs and they just gave me 1000mg of paracetamol rand; 'Kapake', they put it down to stress.

I'd imagine yours is stress as said, and something like this would help but, maybe try and make yourself calm by sorting a routine out, maybe sort yourself a checklist and tick things off so you feel your on track. You can only do what you can do.

Hope you get it sorted mate, defo go doctors just incase it is something more serious!

i suffer from some stress mostly work related iv actually felt like putting the pick axe in the back of my boss before. my boss is who brings me down hes stressed and takes it all out on me which then stresses me out plus im way underpaid for what im doing jst things even small things wind me right up and i want to rip my hair out literally. my main problem is i dont want to go doctors and get put on any medication as i fell being on medication will piss me off because i cant deal with it with my own will if you know what i mean.
