Hi, I did a quick search and noted that a hairdryer and gentle convincing will remove the badges on the back. Mine're faded to hell and are the first step in my rejuvenation of my VTR (it's not in the bestest physical condition ever). I'm thinking I'll respray them light silver so not too different from the original colour.

Is it fine simply using superglue to get them back on?

Also, the plastic black bits up the side of the car doors are literally torn to shit, think the last owner took a spatula to them or something?! Wondering what I can do to replace those/remove them completely

Thanks in advance for any info :)

The black plastic bits up the side of the doors are actually part of the panels below them. You could get the bump strips re-sprayed, satin black for the standard look, gloss black, colour coded etc.

Think superglue would be okay to re-fit the rear badges. Never had them off to be honest.

The rear badges also have a few lugs holding them in, carefully pry them out and all should be well.

And I think your talking about the door pillar trims aren't ? If so they just peel off and some tar and glue remover such as tardis will remove the residue.

You need to pull back the rubber window sill to peel the plastic off, when you do it you will know what I mean.

Just take your time and try and take it off all in one.

I'd love to but the previous owners done a hatchet job of it and it looks horrific, proper bad in fact. Will a hairdryer be enough to loosen up the glue or am I going to have to source a heat gun?

do not get a heat gun on it if you can get hold of a bit where it has started to peel or bubble then just pull it off

can you remove the badges from the back (through the boot lid) so that the pins wont snap?? or will that not work?

Thanks

same question as williamanderson can the rear badges be popped out from inside the boot ? and is a hairdryer better than using boiling water then getting something donw the back of it to remove it ? and does anyone have any tips for spraying the badges like where is the best place to get the paint from and best technique etc cheers

i get my paint off vts-James off here good paint .

and use a hair dryer mate to soften the glue then when it soft use an old credit card to get it off don't use a screwdriver :)

otherwise, just wash the car with warm/hot soapy water to moisten the glue, then push the pins through the boot lid - there are 3 on the citroen and 2 on the saxo
it should slide off easily enough - use a constant push rather than knocking with a hammer so they dont snap though :)
