Hey guys,
From any other threads you have seen you will notice im pretty new on the site, but here goes.
As my second job I detail cars and have just taken ownership of my latest car, a 2000 saxo forte in metallic blue
Its had a easy life, but the past year its spent its time sat on a driveway, having cats sleeping on it, covered in dust and crud and is looking a little sorry for itself, with quite a few surface marks and cat paw cack all over the place!
So over the next week or so I'm going to do a quick detail and try and get it protected for the winter, and Ill give a run down of the products I've used and let everyone know if they are much cop or not.
Pictures will follow shortly and if you want opinions on any products, ask and ill tell you if I've used them and if they are up to the job too, wish me luck lads and lasses!

Well Part one,
Today is cold as hell and I had troubles with polishing so ill give you the rundown of what I did today.
1) First a spray bottle containing Halfords Advanced Shampoo and quite warm water, sprayed onto wheels and lower body to soak off the cack.
2) Went inside, had a cuppa and a smoke, then went out and pressure washed the bodywork to get rid of the loose grit and other nasties.
3) Shampooed the car top to bottom using wool mitt and my shampoo of choice (more about that later) and 2 x bucket+mitts+gritguards, waited 2 mins then went round again to avoid any misses.
4) Rinsed with pressure washer
5) Got out the microfibre drying towel and dried around the car, then got out the spray bottle again and got onto the wheel trims and tyres with a small sponge and brush, rinsed with a jug from a clean water bucket.
6) Applied wax with a foam applicator to all paintwork, including painted bumpers, went inside for another smoke :y: Then buffed off with microfibre cloths.
7) Quick spray over with quick detailer and then a buff with the microfibres and boomph done!
As I said I was going to do a lot more including some scratch removal, polishing and trim waxing. But having washed the car, I pulled out my bottle of scratch remover to find it had turned to nearly glue in the 15 mins it took to clean and dry the car
Then pulled out the Polish to find the same thing, it really was cold!!
So I decided to go with getting it cleaned down and sealed for another day so its protected, better than nout.
Products used:
Zymol Natural Car Wash, Megs microfibre cloths (commercial pack), Halfords Advanced shampoo, Sonus Lambswool mitt x2, 2 buckets with gritguards, pressure washer, Mechielida Microfibre Towel, 3M wax applicator, Megs 16 Pro wax, Dodo Juice Red Mist, too many Marlbro's lol
Hers the pics of before, a bit frozen to be fair:
