Insurance premiums going up again then! Just another case of inexperienced drivers. RIP

Without clicking the link i'm guessing this is about the crash up blackpool way?
Mum told me about it as the road was closed.
edit. Yeah it is.
RIP to the girls,
It will be an eye opener to alot of the 'boy/girl racers' up there.

sadly, lots of people every year die in road traffic accidents.
BUT yes, because its 'boy racers' The Sun feels the need to report it.
I say f*ck you The Sun, f*ck your 'hero' bullsh*t too.

Probably wont affect them at all tbh mate. Most 17 year olds pass their test and think they can handle a car perfectly and nothing would happen to them...
R.I.P to the girls though, far too many accidents happening with idiotic young drivers these days :n:

It might just be me being dumb but how come the boys might be getting done for death by dangerous driving then the girls were racing them and crashed and died? or did the boys cause them to crash?
Aly
29th November 2010, 17:31
RIP to the two Girls, no one should drive like that at this time of year.
Hope the driver goes down for a few years.
He probably won't
I hate this country.

There were 2 cars, one with 2 girls and one with 2 boys and the girls crashed and died
Dom
29th November 2010, 17:35
Im not sure if I have any sympathy. If the two lads died we would all be saying "pricks don't know how to handle the cars, drive to the conditions, my car insurance is going up etc".. But because its two girls everyone has sympathy? They were racing.
Call me a heartless cunt or what, but if you dice with death, then you should expect it.

Ah, I'm tanked on coffee I read it so fast I misread it lol.
This is why I never street race as people never think what happens if the person racing crashes and dies.
Something happened in North East don't want to say his name as he used to post on here but he raced a lad in a Evo who crashed and died and he got banned from driving.

Sad to hear but why do people always say shit like boy racer crash, says they could have been raceing!

29th November 2010, 17:42
Just another case of inexperienced drivers. RIP
Agree with this, but it's key example as to why racing on the roads is ridiculously stupid, ESPECIALLY in weather like this. RIP, extremely sad to know two people have passed away.

Yeah it's pretty bad tbh. Carly was a friend of a friend

All four were known to each other and a police source said: "The weather may not be the main factor in this tragedy — they could have been racing.
_-john-_
29th November 2010, 17:52
Either/or. Jetting about the streets wether the weather is nice and hot or freezing cold is simply dangerous, it's illegal for a reason. It's not just the people in the cars racing at risk, it's everyone else who're potentially on the road as well. Having a car that is nippy doesn't make the driver a qualified racer of any sorts.
devilsadvocate
29th November 2010, 18:47
I wouldn't wish death on anyone but what the fuck were they doing racing in this weather
Hopefully it goes out as a message to 17 year old drivers who 'MUST' have a VTR/VTS as thier first car
Pieface
29th November 2010, 18:50
What idiocy in this weather to be doing that.
Yesterday I was in the car, in -7 weather driving at 30 through a 30 village. And then some young lad overtakes us and does 50 through an icy village. Pure idiots come out around Winter time.

29th November 2010, 19:27
i had one today same thing pieface.
going 60/65 on 60 road and some prick in a bmw decides he wants to overtake me, narrowley missing oncoming cars and nearly losing control of the car himself. Pure fucking idiot.

Doubt a 17 year old has a trophy, probably a phase 2 1.4. Thats what they all seem to drive.

Just incase anyones worried it might be someone they know, the girls names were Carly and Danielle.
I didn't know them but it seems they were friends of friends from looking at my facebook wall.

It's all bad what Eva way you look at it. An 18 year old driver killed my mates dad on a push bike a month or so ago.
People need to think when they get in a car no matter how long you've been driving.

30th November 2010, 08:39
who said they were racing? sun speculation as always!
whats to say they weren't out for the night and convoying home?
regardless, if they are racing, especially in this weather, then they're idiots
Manu
30th November 2010, 08:56
not the sun, read around. They wrapped themselves around a tree, which doesn't happen if you drive at 30 mph.

r.i.p horrible to hear :( .. but some people do need to carm it down- specially in this weather.... but if you behave iratically in this weather then the results will end up like whats happened here.. and its something that could may have been avoided if abit more care taken

i know i've been ranting on about how they could have not been racing, but you make a fair point. some people think they can drive at the usual speeds even with grit, but its not possible. case in point, i could spin the wheels up in 3rd doing about 20mph, even with the grit down. had the back end snap out a few times, ended up driving ALOT slower!

exactly. i maybe wrong but some people think oh its 30 limit or 50 limit maybe 70 limit roads- so they think they gotta do that speed evan with the weather like this, abit of black ice and BOOM 360 time :n:

First of RIP to the girls nobody should die like that.
BUT
WTF i love how alot of people on here are blaming the lads involved based on speculation by what is a retard newspaper, i wouldnt even believe the date in the Sun.
"a source said they could have been racing"
The only facts are the girl driving binned her car tbh how can the other lads in another car be blamed because they MIGHT have been racing... Ridiculous

i think its pretty sad theyre gunna go down for death by dangerous driving,
they didnt force the girls to race if they were, they have their own minds and its a waste two young people dying and ruining two other lives.

Agreed.
IF they were racing (which is only speculation atm) then yes the male driver should be punished for racing. But causing death by dangerous driving is harsh. The lads couldn't've forced the girls to race. It was a choice the driver made herself. (if they were racing)
Only reason the male driver should be done for causing D.B.D.D is if he actually forced the girls off the road.

with everything we do from going out to getting up we make are own desisions as we are responceable for what we do so the lads shouldent get done for D-B-D-D at all as the sayings go IF I TOLD YOU TO JUMP OFF A CLIFF WOULD YOU
AND AS IVE ALLWAYS LOOKED AT THE LAW THE SPEED LIMIT IS A LIMIT NOT A TARGET

Its full of 'tards :zainy: Its not just Blackpool....just seems to be Blackpool that gets it published. It happens everywhere. There was a bad smash with some people I know that resulted in people in hospital, car wrote off beyond any repair and damage to posts. Didnt even see the papers though

Unless you are on your driving test ;) Thats the issue...if you are doing your test and doing 25 in a 30 you get told to up to 30. I know thats under safe conditions etc, but some people feel they need to do the limit in any weather conditions. You will ALWAYS get people that drive like idiots in any weather, nothing you can do. Even tragedies like this dont same to deter people from driving like complete wankers :n:

I really don't get how the Driver of the other car could get done for DBDD. But seriously, how can a passenger even get done for that? Was one of them operating the pedals, and the other the wheel? I think that bits garbage.
Cammy
30th November 2010, 12:41
Pieface - they will look for someone to pin the blame on, hence.. they could have been driving sensably but the girls being YOUNG, it dosent state when they passed their test, how long they had been driving etc, maby they just got their license and was showing off how fast they could go in snow?
It could have been all down to their own.
If the girls were mature enough to know right from wrong, they wouldnt race in bad weather like that, one twitch at 70mph could set you right off...
Anyways.. R.I.P

Raise driving to 21
Wouldn't make a difference mate, more mature at 21 though I guess (so i'm not saying it wouldn't help entirely), but it all comes down to inexperience in my opinion, experience can only be gained through doing, therefore all attempts would be futile. In America the driving age is 16, I do think it should be 18 here, when you're a fully legally responsible adult.
Rudpud
1st December 2010, 01:01
Raising the age wont make a difference. Its down to experience imo.
Tbh its a shame that because they were young, that they are called 'boy racers'... Obviously everyone under 21 wants to be a racing driver and bomb it every where. No proof they were racing, could easily have been down to inexperience on slippery roads.
Shame this had to happen.
