I used to have a mate who was blind from birth. When I used to ask what it was like, he told me, It's normal, it's like imagination does a lot for you. But it's wierd, because he completely used to trip my head out. He always used to say.... Nothingness isn't black, or white or any blue, green, red or any colour, because he didn't know what they were. If you get me, he said nothingness is what it sounds like... nothingness, you cant see anything because there's nothing to see, he has no eyesight.

I always figured it was just like seeing black all the time, like if you closed your eyes
But I can't really comprehend seeing absolutely nothing..
DannoWilko
30th November 2010, 02:10
To him, the sky might be blue, but what colour is blue, in his opinion, sky blue might to us look dark red. It's completly bewildering.
But Iv'e got another question on the matter of colours and sight.
In you eyes what Green is the colour of the grass, apples, leaves... Right, but everyone is different in little ways, fingerprints, logic, personality.... So what might look green to one person, could look red to another, I know it might sound wierd to most of you. But do you not find it wierd? How something youv'e known all your life, could be seen completly different through the eyes of another.

I've thought that too, it's like trying to come up with a completely new colour, you just can't but I bet there are more ones that knowone can see or even think of but as soon as someone does it would probably seem so stupid that no one thought about it, it sounds imposible and retarded to think about but who knows lol

You see the problem that lies with that statement... Is that the only colours to exist to human eye are that of the spectrum of light, then obviously the various mixes of colours that can be created from that original sources of light and colours.
But the crazy thing is what we interpret the colour to be personally, it's really mad thinking that something you see as blue could be seen as something completely different by another person.. It's really hard to come to terms with lol, but I'm telling you, anybody who is like me wih a extensive imagination would be better off focusing away from it, as I spend a long time thinking about it.

Slightly off topic but ever wondered why we call things things.
EG: why do we call a car, a car why not call it a table.

Isn't alot of it derived from latin? Some words would have been filtered through different languages from whatever era into what we speak today.
But i get what you mean, 100 years ago what stopped henry ford going i shall call it the metalwagon

I don't mean to sound bigheaded or anything qnd life revolves around me but do you not ever think that you life is like the Truman show or anything thinking about stuff like this makes my head hurt lol but it is weird and so many questions,
what if like were like just a game on a computer or what if were just it any there isn't anything else

Its not that were wondering if we see things in the same way... It's if we see them the same colour, I see what you say though and understand you.... But Science proves that the brain will see objects in the same way.... But colour is a different matter, take people with colour blindness? How do we know that what there seeing isn't the right way. It's asonoshing to wonder how one persons mind interperates a single colour to another.
But It's like I said, I spend a good few months or so researching this matter, Turns out there's not really alot of evidence to prove that what I'm saying is wrong.... Which then confuses me even more. The human mind ay?
Fascinating

Iv'e also thought about this mate... Dont worry about it lol.... This Is a case of self conciousness and it's a lot confusing... Look at the end of Men In Black where the camera zooms right out past out galaxy and universe.... There's aliens watching us.... Could we really be a significantly small life in an even bigger universe than our own..... Space is one that absolutly entrance's me in itself.... Wish I'd studied it at Uni furthur.... Look at how small we are really.

is a blinds persons dream just feeling and touching things? surely if you was born blind you would never have the vision to then picture things in your dream i mean a dream is usualy caused by things you have seen and then your imagination making things up. so technically a blind person could dream stuff like being able to touch loads of stuff and smelling wierd smells? got to be the only way surely?
although a blind person sais they dont see anything surely its just dark image? only way would be to ask someone who has become blind as they would already know what dark is and what light is. there must be something although it not the eye thats not seeing its the imformation being sent to the brain is not being sent so really there is nothingness as they cant even see dark or black but still there must be something? a tone of colur of somesort thats fixed into there brain... very confusing subject must be horrible to be blind though

Why? He might not know what a dark colour is, and yes, He says he has to feel new things to recognise them... But still the colour that decieving.

If you were born blind id imagine you cannot see dreams.
But if you were blinded in an accident etc I'd imagine you could.
Just a guess.
