View Full Version : Will probley get shot for this post but..
I am just put off saxos all together smileys/smiley5.gif a few weeks back I loved them now the more I see them the less I like them, dont get me wront a lowered to the ground vts does look great.
A mate at work has a xr3i mk5 130ps, im falling in love with that now lol. Whats your thought on a saxo in general? even to the saxo owners... if given the chance would you trade the saxo for another car? or are u 100% happy?
Also whats your thoughts on the xr3i mk5 130ps
I like the look of Saxo's no doubt, its just the fact they tend to crumble if in any sort of accident as I unfortunatly found out on friday...

i agree with you... the only saxos that impress me and make me stare are the standard but lowered to fuck ones. Startin to hate everythin else...
and i love escorts

id have a clio sport 182 or scooby, but i love my saxo tho, i just think saxos are gettin taken over by more and more idiots that stick halford tack on them and race them about the place making all saxo owners in general look like nob heads.

To be honest i dont see the point and dont think i will trade in my Saxo now until either a) i need a family car or b) i get an Evo or something equally as powerful. theyre great lil cars despite the bits and bobs that go wrong and for a hot hatch model thats cheap to run and insure i dont think you can go wrong really.

I've had mine two months now smileys/smiley4.gif, still love it, despite already having changed rediator, rear exhaust and i now have the airbag coming on :S
I will keep my saxo until i can afford to insure a faster car, next up is either a starlet GT turbo, VTS or a 5 series beemer smileys/smiley4.gif
Im sure mk5 escorts r ok, but in my exoperience, owning a ford means spending more time on your back under the car than in it

I'm really happy with my 'Y' vtr, for the price and mainly insurance, it is very cheap, also not had too many problems.
I wouldn't mind a fiesta ST or a SEAT Leon Cupra, but as usual the insurance is ridiculous and sexist i.e got a quote for £2000 on a zetec-s and with the same details but changing male to female, it was £1200!

Despite mine being the naffest saxo on the planet. i do love it.
Mechanically it's simple so putting things right isnt a major issue. Plus mine is super cheap to run and I'm enjoying doing little things here and there.
Mine is gonna serve me throughout uni and for a few years afterwards.
i loved my lil VTR
but
the polo doesnt rattle, its comfortable, i have climate control, the engine doesnt scream when i hit high speeds, and it can tell me the temperature outside lol
i feel so much safer in the polo.............and i dont regret the trade in for one minute! smileys/smiley10.gif

My saxo is fun.
I didnt expect to have a great car for a few grand so moaning about build quality doesnt apply to me. Its reasonably fast handles superbly is cheap to run and repair and has more character than most of the supposed hot hatches these days.

Personally, when you are at the 18/19 stage a VTR is a great car, but i got rid of mine for a Ibiza cupra and that was a big drifference, would never go back! now as i didnt sell the saxo, i have started to drive it again and it feels like a tin can, sometimes it wont find reverse, and it just feels old! cant wait to just get insured on the Scooby, feels a lot safer and more reliable!

well, I have an 02 reg, Saxo VTR MK 2 in Icelandic blue. I absolutely love it! sticks to the corners and love the acceleration, the shine on it makes people look at it! even thought its only standard at the moment! have a few subtle mods planned to make it a bit of a head turner, no way plan on getting rid of mine! for a few years,

what polish you use on it as i have the same colour and mine never shines that well
I loved my old saxo, and yes I did have a few problems but you'll get problems with any car. They are great fun to drive and scott said reasonably fast for there size.
I would never rule out having another. Although I am starting to want a mk2 golf gti euro stylee.

Im in love with my Saxo, i dont plan to sell it for quite a while yet with all the money ive spent on it i want to now enjoy it. I dont see the point in upgrading it to a newer hot hatch as i have no need. If i eventually sell it'll be for a family car smileys/smiley11.gif hope i dont need one of those for a long time yet, or for something worth the upgrade in Evo range or above

I'm happy with mine not a single regret. Only thing that will finish it off is it being a turbo. Yes I know you can turbo them but I do not fancy paying llike 3k for one. That would be the icing of all icing on the cake. smileys/smiley17.gif

My saxo is fun.
Nail and head. I loved my VTS, it was quick, very reliable (surprising i know), looked good until i ruined it by modding and it was cheap to insure and run. The fact is they were a cheapish mass produced car which was and is extremely popular hence why every bugger has one and why the Max Power brigade have tainted the image and turned it into the new Nova. It has its niggles but so does every car ever made. You're bound to get bored of it eventually. Accept it for what is is. Fun.
