Well i didnt plan on giving up, I went to my mates gaff on friday to play poker and forgot my cigs, the nearest shop was miles away and we had all had a drink, So after that i fort fuck it iv drank and not smoked (which i find very hard) so i decised to give up.

Went out on saturday no smoke and went to watch the leeds game yesterday with no smoke.

Feels nice to drink and not get hammered from the smoking smileys/happy.gif

Well done Leckie keep it up. been very nearly 7 months now without one cig at all for me smileys/smiley4.gif that was from 20 a day to zero. Trust me if you are having trouble giving up go ask the doc about zyban.
You get 10 days where you smoke and take the zyban at the same time, and the doc said quit after the 10th day, although most people stop before because the zyban stops you enjoying the cigs. I thought bollocks I will be having 30 a day for the last ten days and have trouble stopping!
After 4 days I was stubbing out cigs and smoking like 2 a day, because trust me they taste disgusting! Its weird because zyban is meant to stop the nicotine addiction.

Proud of my gf, she smoked more than me and since we found out she pregnant has stopped with no help for 5 months! smileys/smiley17.gif

No it blocks the neuroreceptors in your brain that trigger the craving for nictotine.
So basically you don't crave for a cigarette, the only thing to overcome is the habit (like hand to mouth habit) but thats easy.
A side effect I found and my gf's mum did aswell is that it makes cigs taste so vile

Trust me you would be surprised how much nicotine is a part of it. Take the nicotine element out and the habit is so much easier to break.
I was so bad for habits. After every meal, I had to have a fag. Beer + cig etc. but I had no trouble.
Worst thing is eating! I have put on 3 stone since I've given up!
On a diet now smileys/smiley13.gif was ryvita and vegetable soup for lunch..no more kebabs smileys/smiley19.gif

Well done Leckie. My advice to you is chew chewing gum every time you fancy a cig. My dad got hypnotised about 10 years ago and the chewing gum really helped him.

How much did you spend on fags a month? Even if you had only 3 packets a week, thats maybe about £60? x that by 12 months = £720!

That's about the same as a holiday for 2 people...or maybe even (at a push) a years petrol for your car? -Crazy money.
