Right well i've had a disguisting time with insurance. i had a 1.1 saxo and was paying aroud 1600 with my dad as main driver and me as named. but then they rang up and said because hes using his no claims discount on our 1.4 civic te insurance on my saxo is going up to 4 grand, so we cancelled the insurance. Is there any way to use his no claims on my VTR as well as the civic?

Ha ha your gunna give a few people in here a heart attack for admitting that! :)

Good on ya for trying to get the insurance as cheap as possible :y:

Probably should point out to save the whingers;
a) if the insurance company could ever prove your dad isn't the main driver, they could void the policy
b) you can't use no claims discount on 2 cars

Seems a bit unlucky that they rang up and said the NCD is already been used.. Im surprised they checked. Is the Saxo (yours?) and the Civic (your dads?) insured with the same company? Have you got a letter from your last policy renewal? If you have just get another quote with another company and send them the letter as proof of NCD. :y:

Hi mate

Can't use no claims on 2 cars as far as im aware.
As outrage says above, your fronting so they 'could' void your policy just for that alone.

As he said above, are both cars with the same company?

To be honest, using no claims on 2 cars is almost a definite void of the policy in the event of a claim, you cannot argue that one
Fronting is a grey are as nobody really knows whether they will be able to prove it but people have been caught and screwed before so it is a risk.

Your gonna have to get a policy without using the no claims twice, insurance companies are clever sometimes and crack down on customers who blatantly flaunt thier terms and conditions :)
