Right guys, i got a 1.6 R reg VTR now i left the lights on and the battery obviously got flat.. now i took the battery out and recharged it fully but now i'm having trouble starting it up?? i've been told its the ECU and its been reset? any thoughts would be very helpful!

What happens? Can you explain what happens when you turn the key?

it wants to start but just isn't mate, umm the previous owner messed around with it alot.. and was told that it WASN'T a VTR engine.. so i spoke to him about the whole situation and he said..Its a 90 bhp engine i think it will just need the ecu unlocking and it should be fine mate. I need cash for xmas and its typical that it would brake before xmas which reduces the price down to like 100 quid max :(

Did it start before the battery went flat?
Does it turn over?
Can you hear the fuel pump?

checked fuel pump, im sure its NOT that.. yeah started fine no worries at all umm yea it turns over just dosnt catch if u get me

Is the Immobilizer light on?
Check for spark, if you have spark then it's a fuel problem.

Does it stay on?
It'll be that stopping it then try turning the key off and on and keep doing it 'til it goes off and starts. Mine does it.

I'll look back tomorrow and see if you've fixed it mate.
