Dont understand how we can put up with it, but insurance is so expensive these days, why are we paying this much? they say it is to stop people from driving without insurance? but my increasing the price, doesnt this make more people drive without insurance as they simply cant afford it? if people were to go on strike and cancel all insurance the insurance companies would be skint.

we have to have it by law so they get to charge as much as they want. u wan tto drive a car u have to have insurance or be fined for it. its a win win for the ins companys.

As said above, insurance is a legal requirement so even if the whole country boycotted the companies and refused to pay, it would just mean nobody could drive anywhere lol
Insurance has gone up in the last year
Its higher because of uninsured drivers, people who drive without valid insurance (mods and fronting etc) and people who claim for injuries which they dont have!!....amongst other things

That's never going to happen and the insurance companies know it.

This is exactly why everyone should be a named driver on a parents policy and not even consider it in your own name till the price is reasonable. If they dont want you to do it, they could simply stop allowing young named drivers.

Lets face it, insurance companies don't want young drivers, and the ones that want to drive have to pay through the roof for the right to. If your young your more likely to crash. End of :(

Insurance is a modern day scam. The companies are literally laughing allthe way to the bank whilst the average person lives hand to mouth to supply a few peoples greed.
We truely live in a sad world.

I would imagine that uninsured drivers are one of the major causes of premiums being higher than they were a year ago

ive never had a problem with insurance, aslong as you shop around enough and haggle the price, you can get a lower price. maybe not a decent price but a better one. at 18 i paid 550 fully comp for my corsa then when i turned 20 n bought the vtr it went up to just over a grand. they said when i renew it in feb though it will be around the 700 mark. i think people claiming the injuries that they dont have must be the biggest issue. why they've not come up with something to actually prove whiplash is beyond me. symptoms aren't good enough!

Exactly. Nothing to do with uninsured drivers because they seldom payout for that anyway. Insurance is supposed to be regulated by the FSA but clearly isn't. No idea how insurance companies get away with this :n:
