View Full Version : No item recieved from Cammy?

I bought a cd player off a member on here and still havent recieved it.
I paid the member on december 4th and he advised me that he would post on the 7th.
I sent payment via paypal as a gift, so unable to open a claim.
After several failed attempts of contacting him, he send me a PM saying that it was posted on the 7th and told me to be patient.
I understand if there are delays etc and he could genuinly be busy, but its been almost 16 days now, he has not sent me a tracking number which he promised on the 14th,or replying to any of my PM's. Getting a little concerned now.
Any ideas on where I stand in this situation?
Thanks
MunkyBoy

Not very well to be honest.
Paying by gift is not the right thing to do, so you have no means of getting your money back this way.
Just have to keep PM'ing him, or try and get a number for him and ring him.

he asked me to send as a gift because he didnt want to pay any fee's, he seemed like a sound guy so i had no problem in doing so. He was replying to all of my messages before payment was made and even PM'd asking when was i going to pay, but since i sent the payment he has barely replied. Heres the link to the for sale thread where he had a go at me for 'having attitude'

Well its not my fault that the weather has made the postal services up here to a halt, i just received a letter on saturday the 18th that was dated the 8th which was sent by first class from cornwall, i had allready told you the majority of postal service in scotland is at a halt, the motorway to glasgow had been shut off for a long time because of the snow which every courier needs to use to get items out and in this part of the country.
As said, be patient.
You have to be the most impatient person i have EVER delt with.
And i love your cheek to say i have barely replied, im going to love to post a picture of all the PM's i have replied to in my inbox you.

At no point have i ASKED you to send it as a gift.
Let me get proof of this.

OP, do you honestly expect fast delivery when the roads are like this? What do you expect the couriers to do? Throw the package to you??
Take a look at the news and look at the roads, they're bad in the midlands let alone up in scotland.
Learn some patience and it'll arrive as quickly as possible.

So now you reply straight away....!
I completely understand the weather situation, and im aware that there are delays.
My problem is that you have not bothered replying to any of my messages, when iv simply been asking if it had been posted. When you finally replied and said that you would send me the tracking number-6 days later, still no reply. Can anyone blame me for getting concerned?
Cover paypal fees- how is that done other than via a gift????
16 days after the sale and im still awaiting a photo that was promised before sale!
Its nothing to do with impatience- I sent you the money in good faith, and was looking forward to it arriving.
Even now, you have still ignored all of my PMs and only replied on the threads- just a bit of decency, thats all I was asking for!

Cammy, if what he's saying is true, you can sort of understand where he is coming from.
I dont know the in's and out's but i would feel asbit agrieved if you had been ignoring my Pm's.
If you have sent it fair enough, but i doubt its going to take that long to get it his if im honest.
My dad's mate ownes a courier, i told him about this and he said no item shouldnt take that long to be sent, regardless of weather etc.
have you gave him a tracking number or have you got one so you can track 'where the item is'

May i ask how much this cd player was sold for?
I only ask because the fee's on say, £50 are only £1.90.
So is it not worth paying the fee's for the seller to make sure you have the backup of paypal?
I mean, Really..... £1.90 and none of this would have happened!
Joshdaniels

I know that the weather is bad, and I expected there to be some delay, but as you say, 16days seems a bit long. Every PM was repied to up until I paid, then he started ignoring my messages when I asked for a pic etc. He says that he has replied, but only to tell me to be patient.
I am still awaiting a tracking number. Thats all i have wanted since he told me it was posted on the 7th dec. The only reply that I had was to say that he had a trackng number but he had left it in his car and would get back to me. That was 6 days ago.
I feel bad that im coming across as being impatient, im just genuinely eager to fit it and just wanted an update regarding delivery.
The last thing i wanted to do was involve other people but with no replies i just wanted to seek some advice.

£55. I am aware of the fee amount, but seeing as he reduced the asking price for me, I had no problem in agreeing to pay the fees for him.
I didnt think id need to have a paypal backup, I thought it would be a smooth sale.

No excuse mate... I've bought stuff off people I've met a few times on here... and I'm sure there's a sticky in the for sale section about scammers and paypal fee's.
in short... ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS PAY THE FEES!
You can't really moan if you don't and get ripped off... sorry.

He is a premium member, I never expected there to be a problem. I would have obviously paid the fees otherwise, thought I was doing him a favour.
Iv bought off so many people in the past, and paying by gift has never been a problem, its sad that trust isnt enough these days!

only a dumb person would pay by gift no matter what the seller standing is premium member so what thats £15 if they were a scammer they would have had that back instantly. As has been said to postal system is in a terrible mess at present I send items daily and they are taking forever to get there, infact last week i booked a collection it took them 6 days to pick it up so would you please lay off the seller til after christmas give the postal service time to get back upto speed if its not there by then you can be proved right if it turns up then I hope you apologie to the seller.
Seller if you have give him proof of postage in what ever form you have be it receipt or tracking number
I dont believe you have been scammed I just think like so many of us you are just victim to the appalling weather which is absolutely diabolical in Scotland where your item is coming from

at the end of the day lads, weather he should of payed by goods, he has still ben scammed.
Lets be honest, it doesnt take 16 days to send a cd player in a month of sundays!
I've waited 3 weeks for some 4mm Allen headed bolts off eBay so far so i can easily believe that a big CD player will take a long time too... I'm also still waiting for stuff from Amazon that should have been delivered on the 8th December. You just CANNOT assume he's been scammed in the current situation!

If cammy doesnt want to give him the tracking number, or hasnt got one becuase he hasnt sent the item, then its his fault, not the buyers.
The buyer has done his bit! I mean, come on cammy, you know you havent sent it...
it doesnt take 16 days to send, besides, it wasnt snowing or bad weather when you were have meant to have sent it.
Deks, if you think he hasnt been scammed, howcum, cammy wont give him a tracking number, or why did he ignore his messages?
Just be the decent lad, send the item cammy.
P.s! always use paypal goods in future!
Im sorry, but where you live - you seen no snow compared to us, the weather up here is grinding parcels to a stop because theres only really ONE way to get things down south, this isnt england where you could jump on another motorway to take an alternitive route to get parcels about, once its out of my hands, ITS NO LONGER MY PROBLEM, its parcelforces problem to get it there.
So - Refuled, why dont you get the fuck out of this thread? this is none of your buisness, The primary purpous of your post said "You've been scammed" your stirring up shit, Now i see why theres a partition to ban you in a part of the forum you cannot view.

I've helped thouse who buy items off me as much as i can, and there will be allot of people who can vouch for this, if you give me the time of day and the = patience i will return it in the same way, but really - for some people this cannot be done.
I especially love your cheek from earlier saying "I love how quick you've replied instantly" When i go to look at a certain part of the forum which is down at the bottom (Fitness) and i see a thread with my name in it, ofcourse im going to reply.

it was even on the news in some parts of Scotland there no point in sending anything because parcels are not moving anywhere.
some woman on the news has been waiting for couple weeks now for her parcel. and she still doesn't know if it going to come before new year.
people should really read the stickies in every forum.

1. You payed by PayPal gift, should of payed by goods. Makes common sense. Once you pay by gift you have no obligationary contract between both parties for the item in question.
2. Cammy is right, there is only one motorway and its locked down alot recently, the weather is extremely bad and if the OP and other people looked on Royal Mail/Parcelforce website it says that there is an extreme backlog of parcels/letters.
It's going be extremely bad for Scotland. Won't suprise me if you won't see it till new year.
Its bad enough in England, I only received a parcel on Sunday that had been posted 1st class recorded at the beginning of the month that's saying something for us.... We've had it nothing compared to Scotland.
If Cammy has a tracking number then I'm sure he will PM it you.

lol at paying by gift..
He said he would send it by the 7th, say he organised the courior a little later say on the 10th...couriors are busy at this time of your and obviously the weather dosent help. Ive organised a few collections and the earliest they could do was in a full weeks time. The tracking number only becomes active once the parcel is collected etc. Maybe he hasnt given the tracking number because it will show as invalid making you think its aload of bollox.
give it time, id expect 2nd week in jan for something to arrive at the latest.
Peter_D
24th December 2010, 19:34
You have to sympathise with both people here, but...
He understands that there is snow, but he has asked and asked for the tracking number you get, which regardless of whatever the fuck the weather is doing, you will still have a tracking number! Even if some cunt from the parcel company has opened the parcel and fitted the cd player into his works van, you will still have a tracking number from when you posted it
Give him the tracking number and this will be resolved, the buyer has proof the item has been posted and he can see himself what is happening with the parcel without having to hassle you
Seller not giving enough details, combined with a rightly-so suspicious buyer = fail
Tracking number or GTFO imo, no offence but seriously...it's that simple

Why would you say "it might teach him a lesson", what a twat of a thing to say
If i was buying from Cammy i would pay by gift aswell as i'd put my faith in him
But if it hadn't turned up, i would do the same thing and ask for my fucking tracking number, thats all the guy wants, a simple tracking number which will prove to him that it HAS been posted and the problem therefore lies with royal mail or the courier company
Sort it out FFS

I dont get it your charged fee's for gift payment, why not just add on what would be your charge on the gift payment to the price on paypal's charge?
Shouldnt worry I've been waiting nearly 6 months for some side skirts for my MR2, He had great communications and offered me a refund but I left it so long I can no longer claim back via paypal, so I've classed it as a loan to him as he needed the money more than I did it seem's.
It's life win some loose some, but it is the first mishap ive had in 7 year's tbf
Peter_D
29th December 2010, 01:50
The gift payment is strange, some people get charged (they pay fee's), but others like myself, don't pay anything.. If i send 20 quid, i get charged 20 quid and they recieve 20 quid...not sure how it works as i've heard some people get charged fee's even paying by gift so they send 20 quid, get charged 20.78 or whatever, and the seller recieves the full 20 quid...which kinda makes the whole 'gift' option pointless if you're paying extra anyway
Something very fishy here for the seller to keep dodging the question asking for the tracking number...and also he has ignored my PM to him and presumably also ignored the buyers PM, both asking why he isn't giving the tracking number
Sent it earlier on and he has been on the forum since then and posted half a dozen times, so no excuse, just blatently dodging the situation for some reason
Snow has melted, post is running as norm...yet still no item and still dodging the tracking number question.....great seller, A++ recommended etc etc

post wont affect him posting up a tracking number, if one exists. i understand there were huge delays in post this xmas and the buyer should have anticipated delays, so i can see how the seller was a bit frustrated at what he percieves as the buyers impatience. but if a tracking number is posted up the case will be closed, its not much to ask for something youve paid for, at the least.

Admin/mods cant really do anything mate. If you read the rules it states that any 'deal' entered into is done at your own risk.
Notes for the Buyer
It is completely your own decision to purchase an item from someone and you do so entirely at your own risk. Make sure you know what you are buying and agree the terms of the transaction before exchanging monies. Bare the following in mind: -
There are many methods of making a payment (cash, cheque, postal order, bank transfer, Paypal, escarow, etc). Please choose a payment method that both you and the seller are happy to use. Some payments options are more secure than others so make sure you do your homework before parting with your money!
Before exchanging monies, agree with the seller how the item is going to be received. Sending items via recorded or signed-for delivery is obviously more secure than standard delivery. Request proof of postage from the seller, or a tracking reference number, if applicable.
If you choose to collect the item(s) in person, you may wish to ask someone else to accompany you, especially if you are travelling to meet someone you are unfamiliar with.
Before sending any form of payment to the seller, gather as much information as possible, eg, postal address, name, phone number, email address, instant messenger ID, etc. Check to see if the user has a good or a bad iTrader rating within their user profile page. Ask other members if they have had successful dealing with the seller.
It is your responsibility to ensure you are happy with the item and the conditions of the sale, before entering into any transaction. The Saxperience team go as far as they can to try to protect members, but there is very little the staff can do if your transaction turns bad, other than offer our condolences. I repeat again, you enter into any transaction with a third party, entirely at your own risk.

ALL i want is the tracking number, as peter said, Cammy has clearly been on here and posting in different threads, YET he is still avoiding all my PM's, and there is still no sign of the tracking number!
Hes obviously hiding something because anybody in their right mind would surely just hand over the tracking number after all of this!?
I understand the situation with their being back logs at the post office etc, BUT that doesn't stop him from replying to my pm with the tracking number AND photo he promised me over 16 days ago!
