Yeah I laughed at that, so it rides better and in the event of a tyre blow-out it's more controllable.

Nice one, worth the £250k.

The idea behind that was purely from an aero-dynamic advantage. they used half the size front wheels of the normal front wheels everyone else used, to lessen the drag. the wheel behind the first set didn't make much drag as the air was flowing straight over them, but still maintaining the same grip.

With the car the OP linked to, it has a body shell to direct the flow of air over the wheels/tyres anyway.

Also the tyrrel iirc only won one race, monaco, all the rest of the season the team struggled as the tyre manu had to try develop the tyre but couldn't get as much r&d time as a whole field of cars running the same tyre.

was to allow the car t be low but increase the contact patch won its championship twice i thourght cant remember been a while since i saw it
