Thanks. So the bigger red ones will wrap around the electrics, and the hoses will replace the current ones yeah?

You dont get hoses, its basicaly plastic flexi pipe with a slit in, U can use it to cover hoses for things like coolants etc but i just used the smaller one to cover electrics.
I had loads left over. So i could of covered the hoses, but i went for the samco option

Which set did you use? The eBay one?

There both the same, ebay set is just cheaper. U just open it over the hoses, and cable tie it. No hoses just hose covers. I think there worth it for just covering the electrics. Even hoses depends on your taste

you can get islicone hoses but they're from the likes of spoox motorsport (not recommended personally) and samco.

There quite expensive for what they are though

yeah cause they're actual silicone shaped hoses whereas the links above are just for covering bunches of wires. Depends how far you wanna go with your bay :)

what is wrong with spoox motorsport?

I bought the following in blue for my mk2 vts:
Radiator coolant hose kit
Matrix hose #1 + #2
Oil breather hose kit
Intake elbow
Brake servo joiner

The rest of the pics are on my laptop at home (at work the now) but i had major issues with the design of some of their hoses. I searched through their site and bought all the silicone hoses to suit my bay (their 'kits' didn't include everything i was after) spending about £350 on the lot. From off the top of my head i can remember having issues with:

Upper heater matrix hose : wrong shape and wrong length. Then when i did finally work out how i could make it fit (i cut a 135 degree bend off the end), the bleed nipple wasn't at the highest point of the pipe like the standard one is.

Induction/throttle body hose : wrong length of the part that joins to the throttle body so the pipe was hitting the brake reservoir. The pipe that branches out and should join to the rear rocker cover oil breather outlet was 180, yes that's one hundred and eighty, degrees out of position. You can actually see this in the picture above. It faces down instead of up as it needs to to join the oil breather elbow on the rocker cover.

Lower radiator hose : was sent to me as two bits. When I e-mailed and enquired I was told that they used a late mk2 vts for the modelling... My blue vts is a 52 plate and the engine layout didnt change after that :wall:

When you're paying top dollar (£60+ for some of their single hoses) you expect stuff to fit first time. The rest of their hardware may be up to scratch but their hoses aren't/weren't.

Pagey that's bollocks. Gutted for you on that one. I guess it goes to show you can't beat Samco. They may be pricey, but the quality is there.

Admittedly my bay had no Samco's what-so-ever. All cheaper stuff from eBay, but then not a great deal of the hoses i did were standard.
