Hi MOT failed and the only fault they could fix is the exhaust. The other faults are as shown below: (taking the emisions and exhaust out of the equation)

They cant fix the other faults the rear light has always been an issue since day one of having the car. its the same light as the brake light when the brake pedal isnt pressed a dim red light is ment to appear but on the drivers side its not on. Replaced the rear light unit three times and changed numerous bulbs. The strange thing is when you press the brake it lights up all fine but its only when not. Wiring loks spot on so what could it be? if a fuse were could it be?

They cant find the fault with the strut because it has lowering springs on so they dont have to tools to see. The mot was done by kwik Fit so should a standard garage have the correct tools because i can apprishiate its lowered but the working of the suspension should all be the same

Cheers

There is your answer, i hate Kwik Fit..

Some of that you can do yourself with the time, go to another garage or a couple hand them your cert and see about getting some quotes in

Did you have a go at changing the switch? (long shot)

No i didnt mate but the garage should sort that now but surely they can sort them its not rocket science.

As for rear light been an issue since day one of buying the car its really starting to annoy me every MOT its failed on rear light and had three new units and ten bulbs in that time. Wireing looks spot on when attatching the unit and dont think its fuses because the brake light wouldnt work either

Maybe a bad earth on the lights. And as said. avoid that place as much as possible. I wouldnt trust them with a spanner let alone my car

had a similar problem with rear light on mine, my mate found out it was a dead short and changed the board/cleaned earths while he was at it an all seems ok now :)

erm the fact its lowered doesnt alter the tools used to remove or look at a strut!!!

the only thing that may be different is if its coilovers they wont have a c spanner!!

kwik fit shouldnt be in business, they pry on the elderly and those that belive everything a garage tells them!!

I would never use Kwik fit. I booked an mot in once for my old Astra and because he overran on someone elses MOT they expected me to leave the car with them all day. After a long discussion of me arguing what was the point of an online booking system if you cant stick to the times I got nowhere and had no choice but to go elsewhere or leave it with them. Thankfully I took it elsewhere to an independant garage and it passed no probs. :-) But Kwikfit, theyre shite, terrible customer service. Theyre not a real garage...they only do easy jobs. :-)
