making gear leaver straight. how to?

i have seen a few saxos and 106s with a straight gear leaver. on just a normal gearbox not a straight cut. i really want to do it, anybody any ideas how it is done? is it easy enough to do? thanks.

Remove lever and straighten. It is likely bent so that when selecting 1st, 3rd or 5th you will not whack your hand on the dash/centre console.
