Hey seen another member posting about thier gearbox, and it kinda reminded me about mine. when the engine is off, its smooth like it should be to change gear, however when the engine is on, some of the gears at times can be a pain in the arse to get, mostly first gear when the car is idle. really have to force it in. any1 any idea's. I kinda forgot about it. and just got used to it =/

Hey, Its most probably the gear linkage, it happened on my car where u really have to fight it to get into gear, it'll be alright for a while but will need replacing, otherwise you will find that eventually you wont be able to get into certain gears. Its about £80 for the linkage and a pig of a job to fit, so send it to a garage smileys/smiley16.gif

You might need to have a gearbox seal. I have this problem and Citroen said this would solve it as the oil is leaking out to much and in the end it could seize up.

lol my gear linkage also only cost £40 each time when it broke on the saxo and that was to be fitted too.

I would say check the oil first though
