As title says, Started the car up after replacing cambelt and it seems to run Ok. Just a fairly quiet ticking noise coming from the cambelt area.
I haven't got alternator hooked up yet so it's not that. Just wondering what possibilities it could be?
Thanks

Hmm are you sure it's not Tappets? I put my timing slightly out once and the Tappets tapped, Put it timed right and they was fiinneee...

It could be. I set timing up by locking both flywheel and camshaft, while locked tensioned it up and then rotated by hand 3/4 times, all seemed OK.
You suggesting to adjust tappets or re-time the cambelt?

I'd re-time it, personally I'd be happy if I re-Timed it and it was still doing it, I'd then adjust the Tappets... :fcuk:

A quick way to check the cam timing- if you insert a long thin screwdriver [or long thin anything] into the no1 spark plug hole and turn the engine over with a spanner on the crank nut [not on cam sprocket[s] as it stresses the cambelt].
Then when the screwdriver comes up to its maximum height it is TDC, if the holes in the sprocket[s] also align with the hole[s] in the head [looking is enough unless you are cross eyed]. Then its timed correctly.
The engine will run with one tooth out, or even with two teeth out but like a bag of shit
