Yeh, connect to wireless on laptop, use ethernet cable to connect xbox to laptop.
Right click on the internet symbol thing in the task bar, click open network and sharing center, then on the new window click change adapter settings.
Highlight the wireless adapter and ethernet adapter, right click, click bridge.
Sorted!
Be warned it can be a little tempremental, but i put up with it rather than spend 40 pounds on a wireless adapter!

Your not being tight imo, they are charging a rediculous amount for a relatively cheap peace of hardware!

Had a look and i couldnt find anything?
All i could find was wireless bridging, or using a wireless router as a access point.
