Hospital Trip Needed?

Just knocked myself out skateboarding quite badly. I'm 40 miles from hone and don't feel particularly great. Someone said that knocking yourself out at all should be followed by a trip to hospital straight away.

Anyone know if this is true?

if youve got serious concussion the worst thing to do is go sleep (if its actually serious)
if its just a little bang on the head your fine, but if its a bleed or something sleep can make it worse i think?

Carried on skating as I felt ok after a while laying down. First aider had a look at me and said that if I feel bad at any point, straight to hospital. I have a huge lip and a scraped face. Look like I've been battered lol
