ok i have looked far and wide but cant find a picture of the location of the icv in the early mk1 vtr's
there is a thread but there is no pics
the reason is my car likes to ideal funny at times and lags when you put the boot down
the car is also spitting oil from somewere and its everywere and the underneath of my bonnet is covered in it :(

if it loses power underload ( putting your foot down) it could be the coil pack. as for the oil going everywhere it might be your sump gasket is wrecked. what colour is it under the oil cap?

oil cap and water bottle have no trace of crap lol i can hear a slight hissing, like there is air escaping somwere near the Intake manifold

Have you got a induction kit? if so have you got the breather pipes plumbed in ? thats regarding the oil all over your engine bay.

Also regarding the hissing it could be a lose spark plug:y:

i have a induction kit but the oil has a seprate breather
could a spark plug realy cause the hissing ? cause that would make sense as the car likes do die every now and again lol

Make sure your breather filter is above the rocker cover,personally I hate the damn things I find its much better to put the crank case breather hose into the induction kit itself.That way you eliminate pressure build up in the rocker cover & help to stop oil leaks.The hissing sound is probably a split hose.

is it near the sparkplugs on the drivers side of the engine bay ?

well it is the icv/stepper motor
