are saxo vtr brakes and vts the same?
or are the vts bigger? and is it worth swapping them onto my vtr?

Same but vts has abs. However abs has nothing to do with which caliper is used. You will get no benefit by swapping as they are the same.

If you want an upgrade go for a 266mm setup or 283mm setup.
