Right, Finally deciding to sort my Saxo VTR out.

Owned it for 8months now.
Started off as a pretty much standard VTR 2002 MKII In Red.

What it has now is:

K&N Cone Filter + PiperX Breather.
Rear Black Window Tints.
Rear Black Light Tints.
Black Indicator Tints.
Parcel Shelf Speakers.
Edge Speakers all round in-place of standard door/rear ones.

Now....

Before i do start anything it's going in the garage on Tuesday (been delaying it for months) to have my rear drivers wheel looked at. It's leaning in at the top slightly and the wheel arch is down half compared to all others.

Once that's sorted I'm going to:

Add De-badged mesh Grill + colour code. (ordered £19.99)
Add Team Heko Tinted Wind Deflectors. (ordered £22.99)
Add Angel Eye Lights.
Put standard Rear lights on but tint slightly or just buy jewel.
Re-spray the alloys to black (with the helpful guide found on here)
Colour-Code the door cards and vents.

Others that have been sat on my mind we're Sportex Exhaust and bucket seats? Or is that just major chavy? (no offence anywhere there just trying to make my saxo my own without over the topping it)

Any advice, Comments and bits welcome please.

i wouldnt colour code the door cards and vents. not a thing for me personally.

if you want a exhaust, try scorpion. and bucket seats are a win if you strip the rear half

Yeah i guess so.. It was just an idea mainly, all the rest are for sure that was just a newbie idea i picked up on before.

How much are scorpions? just the backbox.

I would strip the rear but use it often at the minute.. so that's outa the question.

you can get back boxes for about £40 on here. i might be letting my full exhaust system go (catback) for about £60.

i wouldnt use buckets if your keeping your rear seats unless you get some racelands... last i saw they fold

Don't I need to be a premium member to access the selling page?

+ If your selling yours, How old/used is it etc?
not that bothered like aslong as it sounds decent and not close to blowing (had a saxo before hand with a good bit of welding needed! downpipe bit fell off ha)

yep... but only coz i think theyre best! them and saxsport

nope... but you must have over 100posts and be a member for longer than a year.

mine came with my S when i bought it. but was on for about a year or two before i got it. so about 3 years old. it dont blow, but i have to often tighten the clamps. purely because i live in central london and have speedbumps that loosen my clamps all the time

im looking at flogging it soon perhaps. going for a full welded system so i dont have to clamber underneath it every few weeks to tighten it. possibly around £60. but my cat is under the car

Ah.. Well tbh my cat went months ago. MOT in march just waiting until then ;D
What would it take to get mine the same way? what downpipe etc?

prolly easier me just buying your back box tbh... If its a direct fit to original system?

while theres a few of you looking on this, I have recently changed my battery due to the weather and it flatting out each week.. my Key light is constantly flashing while im driving?
Immobiliser issue or something else? It does start and run perfect.

Yeah i thought so (meant to state in post) it started before i owned the car, but they did take a sub + sound system out. (kindly left the wiring in for me ha)

maybe that could have set it off? if there any way i could maybe get it figured out myself or a garage job?

+ back to your backbox.. is it direct fitting inplace of original?

CaptainYid
2nd January 2011, 21:04
i wouldnt think so... how longs it ben doing it?

the backbox? i tried it on a standard centre pipe and it didnt fit. slightly off

Benzz
2nd January 2011, 21:12
Ah okay, well if i did buy your full pipe then I would need the different cat then?

+ i've owned the car 7-9months and it was doing it from purchase, was the only issue with buying it as it was a steal for the price as i got a new gearbox and fitment free all included! (:

also its never had a major problem before... got full service and full MOT history, never missed one, nothing major ever gone wrong, just a good few tyre changes and bits here and there.

CaptainYid

if our cat is in the engine bay... then yes. if its under the car, then no

could be a electrical fault tbh... get it on a diagnostic test

Benzz

Will do, Gonna book it in the garage for tuesday morning before I head out to grab the bits to re-spray my wheels.
(going for the black look HOPE TO GOD it goes well!, you don't happen to have any for sale too ha?)

Yeah I have the standard CAT in the downpipe I think.... needs replacing by march either way. Is there any other problems it can cause apart from emissions?

CaptainYid
2nd January 2011, 21:38
yeah mate would look mint! specially if your bump strips etc are black! my silver S has the same look

i sold some team dynamics today dude in black :(

but might have my black VTS alloys up if i can find some 15" pro race 1.2s or 3s

Benzz
2nd January 2011, 21:44
Yeah thats what i'm going for! can't wait to get my wheels black.

Bump strips are black, I'm not to fond of the full colour coding... i like the black bumpers I rekon it defines the car a bit more.

How much you looking at for them if you do, With tyres or alloys standard?

CaptainYid
2nd January 2011, 21:46
im looking for £150 collected for them. but im only letting them go if i can find the replacements first

Well if i've not got on the way to doing my own by the time you may have found additionals, PM me. I've started to come on a couple times in a week rather than once a month ha.

Hoping all goes well in the garage. really hope its not the Beam... :'(
