Some may remember a while back i was having trouble with FIFA 11 online. Soon as i started a game after around 5 or 10 mins, usually around the 80th minute i got disconnected, happened EVERYTIME, then my DNF went upto like 50% even though i was winning 4-0 etc. Anyway, i thought it was the EA servers, i was contacting EA for weeks on end trying to sort the problem. They told me it was my ISP, so i phoned my ISP (virgin media) and mentioned the fault, they told me the connection was fine, it was the ea servers. I was back and fourth like hell, in the end i gave up. Earlier today i played Uncharted 2 online for the first time, after about 10 mins i got disconnected from the co-op games, it came up mission failed, then came up connection error, dint think owt of it and jus thought my partner had died, but everytime i try play this game online, after 5 10 mins it comes up mission failed, then a box saying connection error, then goes onto the screen where it tries to find another game to join, i'm like eh wtf? It doesn't sign me out of PSN network or anything, just disconnects me from online gaming.

Yes i'm running wireless with a Netgear Rangemax router Model WNR834B. I've tried DMZ, port forwarding, i've tried everything to my knowledge i can think of. I've searched google everywhere, but theres no solution, only people saying "i've got the same problem somebody help please" Has anybody got any idea why this maybe happening? Im thinkin maybe my internet connection, but my xbox and PC run through the same router, and they both work perfectly fine i can play all day on my xbox if i wanted. Please somebody help if you can, i'm at breaking point with my frigging PS3. Thanks

I don't really have a clue but what NAT type do you have? 1, 2 or 3? NAT type 3 is the default, but what you want is NAT 2.. NAT 3 causes problems with connections

Other than that i aint got a clue, have you signed up to a PS3 forum and asked the experts there?

As Mr D said, this sounds like the common NAT type 2 problem.

Goto the Network settings of the PS3 and check your internet connect status.

Have a look at the NAT type displayed at the bottom
If its 3 - You found your problem
If its 2 - you may still benefit from "forwarding ports" specific for PSN

I'm having huge trouble finding games on FIFA now, it was completely fine for months & now I can't find fuck all. I work as a technician for VM, I have two types of broadband here, cable & adsl, obviously using two different routers/modems.

It's a joke I can only put it down to being PSN or EA.

fuckers.

Another thing you should do is get an ethernet cable and try a wired connection and see if it continues to do it

ye its nat type 2, got UPnP enabled aswel, signal strength is 100% lowest i seen it is 93% I played about wi the DMZ thing, that doesn't work, i've got all ports neccesary open, really don't understand whats going on. I messaged playstation 3 themselves today, i put it up on forums, all peope say is "i got the same problem" can't see any solutions at all.

this is what my port forwardings look like but i've just noticed that the server IP address is 192.168.1.1 and when i was looking at the PS3 earlier, i'm sure it was 192.168.1.2
Could this be the problem? Sorry i'm a big noob to port forwarding

Not 100% sure but i imagine you'd need to set the IP of the ports to match the IP the PS3 is using, as you may have opened the ports for that IP address but the PS3 isnt even using that IP, so they are open to that IP but aren't being used

yeah i thought that, havent had much experience with port forwarding but thats what i'm guessing. I'll double check the IP of the PS3 then change it on my router and see what happens.

i don't want to speak too soon but it MIGHT have worked. I changed the IP address on the port forwarding on the router to the same as my PS3 which i thought it was the same but turned out it wasn't, i completed about 11 matches online last night only getting connection error once, so i'm hoping that it has worked. Thanks for your help

Hope it's sorted, must be a pain in the tits getting booted everytime you're winning, i know how annoying it is getting kicked from a match on far cry when i'm doin good

it is extremely annoying. Unfortunately its still happening though, it was fine last night, then today i try play, i complete 1 game in about 6? I spoke to playstation themselves, they told me to put it into DMZ which i did, i've already tried it before but thought i may have done it wrong, he talked me through it, i tried it, still getting kicked off half way thru a game, i phone em back, he said it maybe something to do with the router, but the router works fine with the Xbox and PC, so i don't know if thats the problem? But i may look into getting another router anyway, just to eliminate that possibility?
