Hello... I have a Citroen Saxo VTS 1.6 16V from 2002 stock, and i was poundering to put Bilstein B8 has a suspension, or Bilstein Group N, and eibach sportline springs (50mm)... But i don´t know what´s the best for daily drive!!! And i can not lower my car too much because of the roads, too many bumps and stuff!!! I was thinking on 35mm or 40mm lowering.. What do you think? I hope you can help me with my decision on suspension and springs... And if you can show me some pictures of saxo´s with 35mm, 40mm and even 50mm of lowering, i would be really thankfull too all of you... Best regards... Happy new year for everybody.. Thanks!!!:y::hug:

I have b8's and 40mm gmc springs and find it pretty much ideal for road use, if anything its a little too soft for me.
From What I understand group n's are a bit too hardcore for a daily driver, though I have no experience of them.

As for height, I dont know What the roads are like round your way, But where I live 40 is generally fine, I used to scrape a Fair bit at 50 though (lower strut brace)

If you are worried about running too low or hard then I would personally go for the Bilstein B6 and Eibach Pro-Kit springs (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-suspension/suspension-kits/citroen-saxo-bilstein-eibach-road-suspension-kit.html). This is great when you want a little bit extra suspension travel.
If your roads are good enough condition that you can run low then dont go for the Group N (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-suspension/suspension-kits/citroen-saxo-bilstein-faulkner-35mm-trackday-suspension-kit.html), but go for the Bilstein B8 and Eibach Sportline Springs (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-suspension/suspension-kits/citroen-saxo-bilstein-eibach-50mm-road-suspension-kit.html)

personally its said 30 to 40 is the best compromise. if you're not after height then stiffer springs and dampers will sharpen things up but without the problems of lowering!

Keep the std springs & buy new o/e dampers?

Even with B8's and lowered 40mm i wouldn't say my car is comfortable. Quite often going over a drain the car crashes into the bumpstops and i feel like my body has taken a beating. I've even changed to 195/50 profile tyres to try and make the ride that bit more comfy. In hindsight i'd have gone for a higher ride height and maybe the b6's? Also my lower strut brace can be a real hindrance.

On the plus side when you get to decent roads (like in Wales) its a joy to drive.

Yes... thas where i´m from, but im living on São miguel Azores... 20minutes on airplane from Santa maria!!!
Azores islands... Better than a lot of places in the all world... As the name says, that is an island ;)... Small, but you don´t have to be big to be good... See your own as the car that you have parked in front of your door or garage, small, but powerfull ;););)!!!

I don´t know... i´ll see... i have 195/55 tyres, and maybe i´ll choose B8´s, but don´t know what spring´s... thanks for all you comments... best regards!!!

for daily driving, on a car thats never going to see a track.
There is no point buying bilstein b8s or Grp Ns imo.

Just get some spax 40mm springs and use the standard shocks. If you insist on getting a suspension kit the apex 35mm kit is good, my mam has the apex kit on her VTR lmao.

The Spax springs are too crashy when fitted to OE. 40mm is too low for the OE dampers to operate. The Apex suspension kit (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-suspension/suspension-kits/citroen-saxo-vtr-vts-apex-sports-suspension-kit-25mm.html) is going to be far superior and is great value for money

Can you not buy uprated suspension for saxo's but with no lowering?

I never found them crashy at all when i had just the springs on my VTR.
Plenty of people run them without complaints. Goes without saying that a fully designed suspension kit is going to be superior. But personally for the road if your O.E shocks are in decent working order, then there is no need to go and spend £200 on a kit when you can get springs for around £40 (thats how much mine cost, don't know current price).

The shocks life will probably decrease. But i had spax springs fitted to my VTR for well over 30k and the shocks were on for 20k+ before that and they were still fine.

All personal preference at the end of the day, and of course how much you actually want to spend. But that Apex kit you linked is good value for money without a doubt, better than the Koni setup i used to have on the VTS.

for my daily im running b8's i love it, yeah its firm but handles well and its not silly hard.. i would only go down 40mm with standard shocks

B6's are standard length dampers and 30% uprated. Then its a case of choosing the right spring. You would probably need a custom spring length but thats not too hard to do.

If im down -40mm on b8's and its hard in essex you are going to find it uncomfortable where you are mate.
